Random Boat Parts For Sale / kiekhaefer trim tabs
« on: January 24, 2015, 11:11:23 AM »
These are extremely rare all in one trim tabs.  The pump and sender is all in one small unit.  No giant trim tab pumps mounted in your boat with hoses running everywhere.  No giant 33c cables running around with more holes in your transom for trim tab indicators.  They're about 10x12 in size.  Have annodes on the tab and the mounting plate in good condition.  Wiring is very easy, I used a set of relays with 2 switches when they were in my bahner, but I dont think I'm going to use them in my warlock.  Trim sender works with a generic trim gauge for your stern drive.

the part inside the boat (dont have a pic afterwards when they were wired up...)

video of them working...

Asking $750 obo.  Feel free to ask me any questions you may have as you generally dont see a set like these.  I've only seen one other picture of them and it was from europe.  I'm located in huntington beach, ca... prefer NOT to ship them.

Projects / 21' Warlock project...
« on: November 29, 2014, 11:32:28 AM »
First off, a big thank you to spectrapat and all his help with getting the boat.  As you can see, it was a very HOT deal.  Most of the interior is toast and I'm not so sure about the floor either, but thats no biggie.  My back seat will fit with 1.5" on each side, so thats awesome.  Theres general fire damage in a few areas, nothing too major.  Theres some gelcoat damage at the helm which I can cover up with an aluminum plate for the dash, and near the transom, not sure what to do there other than paint it to re-gel it and blend it in.  Otherwise transom looks to be in good shape.

Project Boats For Sale / 1980 Bahner 21' daycruiser...
« on: November 28, 2014, 06:27:03 PM »
Set up for a mercruiser i/o... either alpha or bravo.  Hull was purchased a little over a year ago as a project.  Since then its had new 3/4" floors put in and a 2 1/4" thick transom put in.  There are imco 13 gallon aluminum tanks with polished fuel fills and new USCG hoses and SS hose clamps.  The carpet is new 20oz from boatcarpet.com and there are 3 access holes in the floor so you can get to the underside to bolt in your seats and for ventilation.  Grab handles are staying on the boat as well as bow railing.  Also including side panels which have cubbies and holes for 6 1/2" speakers.  Including a 3 bow bimini top with solid rear poles, its blue but its better than getting skin cancer.  Also included is back hatch and hinges which will clear a BBC with center rise exhaust.

no motor, no trailer, no upholstery.  this is a solid project hull thats ready for someone to bolt their stuff into.  gel has some rough spots from previous owner, holes are filled they just need to be sanded and polished up.  or you could just paint the whole thing which is what i was planning to do.  theres a set of seats for $400something right now for sale, slap your motor and a drive in it and go boating.  also the floor is left open under the bow.  my original plan was to go open bow, which doesnt use the floor in the front so you have more legroom... you could do that or put in a bulkhead and some speakers up under the bow if you wanted to as well.

Asking $500.  Offers accepted, shoot me a PM.  If you have something to trade shoot me a pm too.

when i first bought it, and what you'd be buying with some other boat on craiglist...

all new transom:

bilge is all white and clean (no motor/rigging included with sale)

heres the boat handling some decent harbor chop with no problems.  was probably doing 40 at the time.  its a great riding hull.

« on: November 24, 2014, 09:54:27 AM »
my bahner will be up for sale soon.  im going to be keeping the interior, motor, drive, trim tabs, and some of the rigging. everything else is new... floor, transom, carpet, side panels, etc... tanks are clean, new fuel fills, theres a bimini top i picked up, etc.  ill probably be asking $500. no trailer.  just giving a heads up before i toss it on craigslist once i take all my stuff out of it.    you can view my build thread in the project section if you have any questions.  this boat/hull has no surprises... you can see EVERYTHING you're getting into.

mods can move this to the for sale section if you need to... was just trying to start a convo in case anyone might be interested.

Not gonna lie I've had it for a while.  I was tooling thru Costco and it was on sale, and it sat in a box for a good while.  Then recently we've been using it to cool our nursery for our baby.  It works great, but I've decided to jump into a muuuuch higher BTU to cool the whole house.  This works great for cooling a single room.  Has a remote as well.

Asking $50.  New ones are $120.

A big chunk of whats needed to convert that boring single axle to a tandem, or if your tandem fenders and steps are all bent up, here you go.  grab another axle, some wheels/tires, and bolt these up to your trailer with 3 bolts on each side and go boating.  Came off my tandem competitive trailer.  The chrome left side has 2 scratches in it but overall in good condition.

Engine Mechanical / Electrical / bbc gen iv rear main seal
« on: May 05, 2014, 10:58:37 AM »
i have a feeling my rear main is leaking... my oil pan is new, new gasket, blah blah and im getting a tiny little drip near the rear of the motor.  even when its off.  nothing crazy but enough to make me put a towel in the bilge to catch it and enough to make a mess.  i cant really see where its coming from as the mercury bellhousing blocks most of my view.

is the rear main like a 2 piece deal that sits in the rear cap of the block?  how do i get the old first piece out and a new one in without pulling the caps and the crank?

also is there a "marine use" rear main seal to go for or are they all pretty much the same?

would i be better off just pulling the motor out and doing a freshen up with new bearings, etc? general ideas on the cost for that?  machining the block fresh, hone, rings, etc.

The No Wake Zone / So my old Tahiti is for sale...
« on: March 30, 2014, 06:08:49 PM »
So the next owner never registered it. I did the release by mail but then I got a notification by DMV that it was still in my name.

Then today I notice it's for sale on craigslist.  But he has it listed as a 71 kona.  It's a 78 Tahiti....  I have a feeling he is doing some type of funny business with it.  Lame...

My wife was complaining about pain late night/early morning on tuesday.  We thought it was just the usual pains associated with being pregnant.  So I told her to do a couple moves that are supposed to help.  Shortly after she yells from the bathroom that theres blood.  We call the doctor and head off to the hospital.  Once admitted she gets treated for being dehydrated and gets checked up on.  Nothing too out of the normal baby seems fine, etc.  They continue with fluids and then start to take blood.  My wife gets back from the bathroom and lays back down.  A nurse comes in saying the babys heart rate is low and tries adjusting her monitor thats strapped her to belly.  In about the blink of an eye she yells out "CODE GREEN!" and about 50 nurses run in, adjust my wife and whisk her out of the room.  Emergency c-section, deliver the baby.  I kid you not, they would put a nascar pit crew to shame.  I blinked and my wife was gone and I was in the room by myself...  hoping that I didnt lose them both.  We found out that the placenta had detatched and was bleeding within itself so between that and drawing blood, my wifes blood levels were dangerously low.

Valerie 32 weeks, 6 days.  4 lbs 10 oz.

Right now everything seems fine with the exception of her lungs.  Shes not oxygenating properly so they have her on a pulsing breathing machine, but they were able to dial her assisted oxygen back to 21% which is ambient oxygen levels... but its still forcing air into her lungs. In doing that they have to sedate her to keep her calm and not to to fight and breathe on her own.  Which is tough for mom because she cant talk to her or be near her and she picks up on her scent and sound and gets excited and heart rates increase.   Based on the tests tomorrow they might take her off that and just use a normal respirator and make her breathe on her own....

I havent told my wife... but I just feel helpless.  It was one of my biggest fears that my child have any type of complication.    Just trying to stay strong and support her through this.  Between the stress and her recovery she needs me to be there and get all the information to relay to family and friends.

Just hoping for the best.
