Jet Pumps / Jg bowl fill holes
« on: August 21, 2022, 07:13:01 pm »
The threaded fill holes on my jg bowl are stripped out allowing water in and lube to leak out. Is there an easy fix for this, or do I need a new bowl?

More hp, and a good pump will make any boat go fast!

I would trim it down and take it for another spin, if it works better leave it. If it?s worse then trim it up and try again. You are going to have to play with it until you find the sweet spot

Try playing with the angle of the ride plate. Make adjustments until it rides the way you want it.

From what I?m told, impeller size is based on hp/tq curve plus the rpm at which the engine turns. I chose a ?B? cut as I plan on adding more power and rpm soon.

Upgraded shaft, inducer, loader, droop, and place diverter. I still need to add a shoe and ride plate.

Weld a hex bolt to it, then use a socket to break it loose

I have a mild 540ci na motor with single 1050 dominator  running 91 octane in an 18ft eliminator bubble deck with 2- 12 gallon tanks Cruising between 3500-4500rpm what do you think the mpg would be? Just curious to see about how far I will be able to go before I would have to break out the paddle and start rowing!

I would say you leave it where it’s at. 6-71 is a small blower that you are spinning at 4-6k rpm for long periods will generate a lot of heat plus you have iron heads which don’t help dissipate heat either. Hot air being crammed in the engine doesn’t make power. Adding an intercooler will give you cooler dense air giving you more power. Just my .02
