I also will part with KA big valve heads. Said to flow as good a C heads. New valves, original springs and rokers/studs. ran once for cam break in and once on lake before bottom end cut loose. Ready to bolt on.

I have a bunch of olds stuff im needing to get out of my garage. Basset headers like new in a boat fire, need dipped. Several bell housings, rear four point and broke front (can be welded) Pro comp air cap intake ran once, Two drive lines, crome valve covers. Shoot me and offer. Will pay half of shipping from the midwest upon cleared payment.

Well a little progress.  :banghead: i got the pump 90% in. I wanted to use just the T/A instead of the spacer it came with. Unfortunetly its set back to much and will have to be used. :banghead: The thing is ugly and the end that butts up to the transom is about 1/8'' thick just inviting leaks. Future plans will include doing away with all of it and building a plate. I got the guages, ingintion switch and steerig wheel in this pst weekend as well. I picked up my motor friday and started putting it together. I wanted to install it but just ran out of time with wedding and mothers day activities. Broke down monday and purchased a T valve from Tom. The price of those things seam crazy to me. This week i should everythig ready to set the motor in and start putting it togehter. Hope to leak test and fire motor up on sunday.

A few update pics... Glassed in a battery location in the rear and spot putty. Looks like a Picaso!!!!
There is some free space behind the tanks i was thinking about putting some spray foam in?! Any suggestions. Just leave it???

Is it absoulty nessicary to run a T valve with OT headers or is there a way-around?

I picked up a marine PRV for 50 bucks on ebay. You cant use any ole PRV. You can buy cheap ones for like 10 bucks, but you can only get them down to about 33lbs. I know cuase i tried. The one i picked up is 7.5 - 22 lbs. Plan on running it at 17lbs.

Fellas i am having trouble getting bowl off to replace the gaskets. Ive removed the nozzel housing. Once thats removed theres a cone looking deal right in the middle. On some diagrams it shows a nut with a greese zert. I cant get the cone off. would This keep the bowl from coming off and is it treaded into the shaft? i can get it about 3/4'' out but then thats it. Does it just need a good massage with a rubber mallet? Thanks for any info!!!!!!

At what point in stringers should i set the rails. They are 1 x 6 . I think nominal size is 3/4 by 5 1/2''. Just come down half of the 5 1/2 and bolt them in? Also im wnating to use 3'' x 4'' by 1/4'' angle to bolt engine to rail. Will this be string enough? I know they should have a guset but is that over kill. Ive only got 400 HP motor.

Man after reading this I am not looking forward to doing this. I have a few ?s my self?

Whats with the drive line dregree angle? Is 1-1.5 a standard?
Is there a way to set rails in before you have any messurements then make the adjustments with the angle plates that bolt to motor mount and rail?
I would like to set my rails first. Or should i bolt every thing to the motor then drill the stringer holes when its setting in the right location.  ???

I didnt get much done this weekend. Ole lady had to go to Wichita and party! Some pics of the tank install. I dont think these tanks came with this boat. They dont line up to the old locations and i had to mocifiy the gunnel supports to acomidate the TABS sticking put of each side. I did write all of my kdios names in black marker on the gunnel supports! Plan on not carpeting those areas. Kinda cool i think. Somthing for them to brag about out on the lake! I plan on glassing them in tomorrow evening. I had to haul it out of town with me cuase im working on the road. If not i would never get this thing on the water.

Hope to get carpet in this week and engine bay Rihno lined, intake painted/sealed.
This weekend i plan on the last coat of primer and motor mounted.

I have gunnel supports already cut out and ready to go back in. I have a lil bit of cut work to do. The gas tanks have straight tads i have to cut out for. I figure im going to set tanks, glass over the tabs and then set gunel supports and glass them in. It has a decent bulkhead in it i figue will last a couple more years. i will prolly go ahead and put some resin over the entire bulkhead to extend its life.

There is about a 3/4 by 3/4 notch at the bottom where they meet and placed some extra layers. Where they meet is right where the front bucket wood will be. So there will be even more glass in that area. I was wanting to make a half and half L where they meet about 3'' but after talking with the buddys we deicided it would be suffecient support.

I didnt. I lifted the back of the boat off the trailer and supported it. I did leave the front on the front bunks at the very front though. I only replaced about 1/2 the old stringers. The front was in good shape and fiber bonded still. I know i should have repalced the whole thing but figured why mess with whats good. I have heard that about the stringers and this is why i lifted the ass end. I also figured the front stringers would hold the original shape since the glass was still good.  ??? I geuss ill see in a couple weeeks!!!!! A jig would have been nice but who has that kind of time!!!!!! lol

Guys i need some help. I tried last weekend to get the old nozzle pins out from the bowl piece. I completely removed the retaining screws so i know those werent holding it up. Those things will not come out! :mad: I got them to move but not enough to remove the nozzle. I dont want to break the dam thing so i didnt get to agressive. Whats the easiest way to remove them so i can get my diverter on there. Do i need a press or ????
