The No Wake Zone / Re: Header coating
« on: April 23, 2015, 10:24:58 AM »
I wished I had gone to Embee to have my headars done. I had Carcraft take care of my pipes and they went real thin on the coating in between the headers. Now they are all rusted to crap even though I have taken care of them. Will be re-coating them again but now that I live in Wa I gotta find a place local to do it.  :banghead:

I've seen what Embee does and it is the best coverage of all the different coating places I've seen. That being said, their high quality work does come with a higher price tag.

But you ge twhat you pay for...

Ran across a fellow board member on my flight back to seattle so I thought id check out the event. Looks like a lot of nice iron, and a good time. Pretty typical of a SoCal Jetboate event, awesome to see what yall got goin on.

But Brad, how is it still SoCal Jetboats if you moved to Vegas? Hah

The No Wake Zone / Re: Anybody heard of the formula x2 fuel treatment?
« on: April 14, 2012, 11:15:00 AM »
The only good experience I have had with fuel additives aside from using injector cleaner every so often is diesel additives for cold weather.  Most of the time all this stuff is is snake oil.

Yeah... the last time it ran. I've since put a new false bottom in it, blue printed the pump, re-did the trailer, finished all the machine work on the engine, new carpet and its still not together. Heh.  Been picking away at the wiring system, then I just gotta assemble the engine and then she'll be alive again.

Engine Mechanical / Electrical / Re: Electrical
« on: March 31, 2012, 07:15:12 PM »
Wires here wires there.  Debating how I want to run power to the front of the boat. Debating wiring in a stereo. Meh. Looking for motivation mostly I think. Got the gauges daisy changed together and sending unit wires pulled to the back. Ten gauge wire positive and negative to the front. Thats as far as I've gotten.

Anyone have any pdf's on electrical system wiring for their jet boats? I have an idea in my head, but thought I'd see what others are doing as well.

BTW, whats up fellas haven't been around the boards in a fresh minute.

The No Wake Zone / Re: My motorhome
« on: August 21, 2008, 12:47:51 AM »
Every 440 motorhome I have ever driven ran like a bat out of hell >:D, the trick is to get the Thermoquad carb running dead on balls accurate or change it out to a Quadrajet, sounds lame but these things like both carbs, they also respond well to headers, best so far for fit and performance are the Tri Wye's (Doug Thorley), also yes the motor can come out the front on a class "C" but on an "A" they must drop out the bottom, crossmember and all, we had the P30 chassis down to about 3 hours having the engine on the ground (no beer involved is a huge help) ;D  Those 440's are mean bastards...A quick thing to check, does the trans. have all the gears, I've seen them loose first gear without realizing it and the just can't get rolling for anything...

Yeah, It has 1st.  It probably just needs some TLC.  It ran pretty good from Menefe to Rialto.  Before I do anything with it I want to get the wiring fixed, the dash is dark, and half the gauges are either pegged or not working.

I'm a new MOHO owner and want to get into the 440 on my 32 foot class A. How the heck are you guys yanking the engine? Out the bottom?  Right now my rig is a gutless pig.

Anyone want to make some money on the side and repair my electrical system? It has gremlins.  :banghead:

This is pretty retro, original gel. Dirty as hell in the picture but I have polished it out and don't have those pictures. Stay tuned!

The wing seems to be leaning towards the retarded side of things for me.  Maybe we will see this in the next fast and furious movie. "Fast and furious west coast Trailer queens."  Interesting dual stage turbo setup though.  Looks like small turbos for out of the hole and large turbos to keep the top end going? or am I just on crack. Looks like two sizes of hair dryers to me.

I've heard of people pulling bilge plugs and that will do it to a boat.  Looks like a crappy situation to be in, fortunately not to deep of water though.

The No Wake Zone / Re: Who pays luxury tax on their boat?
« on: June 09, 2008, 09:08:42 PM »
makes me glad my boat is too old and was too cheap for luxury tax.  I don't have insurance either, but I was told my boat can't be insured. All of its occupants have health insurance though. *shrug* I rarely go out on weekends so I don't worry about it too much.
