Ya its a berkely pump its an e pump. I don't think it matters what bowl fits on the pump though. Let me know how much for the bowl and I need an A impeller. The AA is going to be too big. Thanks

5
Ooops I meant a used good "A" impeller and a good used bowl. I must of had a dumb moment!
Thanks

6
Went out 4th of july blew up impeller and bowl. I need a good used a impeller and a good used a impeller. Matching bowl and impeller of the same pump would be great. Any one???

I may be at the lake later today. Looking at another boat today also. Nordie wants to go Monday too. Gonna be a madhouse out there tomorrow.

nice! if u go 2 the lake sat-mon give me a call and we can meet up. 738-8518 mike

Ya my flywheel has straight cut teeth too its brand new and matched the original. the starter also has straight teeth. I'm just gonna run a wet starter. It may be a pain to install it but it will work. So what's up? Who's goin to the lake/river.

10
What about an aux solinoid? Could that cause the slow starter. My boats has the regular starter solanoid then an aux.

11
Nice! Hell ya I didn't even think about that. It does get wet. Ill prob just run a cheapo 50 doller starter then. And just let them take their time on the reverse one. So what's up u guys going to the lake. Like I said total party at mead. If that sucks another crane op here has a 3 rooms booked at riverside in laughlin so either way it should make for a good time.

12
I'm at work until noon I'm a towercrane operator at citycenter. The boat is parked at my buddys house on cheyenne and clayton. Ur right it might fit but I will have to move some wires and figure out a way to water proof the thing as it will prob get wet. The boats a jet so it takes on a little water. Iam not a hundred percent that the starter is bad. Its a brand new motor and the starter tries but it act as if its to weak to turn it. Maybe the armeture or brushes going bad. I did find a place on industrial that said they prob could have it done by either 2night or 2morrow morning. I'm going to go buy a brand new battery and if that doesn't work, the starter is shot.

13
Damn all the motor shops here in vegas are swampede I don't think I can put a starter in the stock place because its to close to the bottom of the boat. Only if a vegas boater had the reverse starter for sale. Anyways I hopefully will be launching at hemmingway going through the narrows towards ecoibay and there is a few coves and one cove will have about 20 boats. All beached around my buddys 42ft cabincruiser.  It should be fun if I can get a starter.

14
That's what I was afraid of. I live in vegas so if I find a motor shop to rebuild this thing quick like ill be going to lake mead.

15
The nose points towards the front. If It is a reverse rotation then its getten rebuilt today I have to be at the lake this weekend. If its a standard I will just slap on a high torque today. Either way I need to know. Thanks

What kind of starter do I need to get for my 78 cv23 jet boat. The boat has a ford 460 and the starter is mounted on top of the bellhousing on the passanger side. Is this a reverse starter or just a normal one. I just replaced the flywheel with a normal flywheel so I hope its a normal starter. Thanks for ur help. Mike

Engine Mechanical / Electrical / Re: impeller clearences????
« on: July 13, 2008, 08:55:28 PM »
wow lots of info to intake!! thanks everyone!! i'll try to get it figured out. maybe a whole new pump, the je pumps intake looks crappy compared to the other pumps. but heare s a bit of info just incase I am running a ford, yea I know ford, but thats what it came with. but its a pretty nice ford, its bored and stroked to a 557 it will run 6500 rpm all day on the dyno but in the boat it runs 5800 rpms with like I said the je pump and an "A" cut impeller top speed is 66 mph gps with the lake flat. but like i said the hole shot is crappy until it catches then its like a rocket! not bad for a 78 glastron that i bought for $1000 and completly redone in a year including engine, paint, all wood, stringers and interior, everythings new! its nice family boat that hauls!! next project is going to be a cole tc2 vdrive strap in and hold on!! Thanks again!!

Engine Mechanical / Electrical / impeller clearences????
« on: July 12, 2008, 06:35:25 PM »
What are the clearences for the impeller and how do I go about measuring it? Its a berkeley je pump. Someone told me to measure it through the cleanout hole, but I forgot where to measure and the clearence. My boat since I put a new top loader grate feels like its slipping when romping on it, but then catches and goes! if I remember right, the person I talked to said I may need to shim the impeller, if thats the case where and how do I go about doing that? Thanks for any info
