WTB / Re: Wanted: bow tank for 1975 Wriedt Maverick
« on: May 20, 2016, 11:09:55 AM »
The tank in my 1975 Wriedt Maverick also started coming apart from the inside. Then the next thing I know it started leaking inside the boat. Just letting you know that's  probably  next. I ended up going with saddle tanks.

I've scuffed a little off from beaching. But other than that it holds up well considering I don't leave it in the water overnight.

Thanks for your reply.. did you use a bottom paint for the below waterline portion, or top-side paint for everything?

Thanks

I used a single stage automotive paint that I got from tcp global. It came out pretty nice.

It took me almost a gallon to do my 19' Wriedt. I put 2 coats on the bottom and 3 coats on the top

Jet Pumps / Re: to rudder or not
« on: April 05, 2016, 07:47:17 AM »
On my 20' southwind I found it helped a lot of the side to side (dog tail wag) at slow speeds, as well as getting on the trailer. Other than that it was just there.

If one is worried about hitting the rudder, there is a greater issue there. The difference in rudder and hull is only a couple inches, in my onion id rather have the rudder there to hit then the hull or anything else for that matter...

I felt it helped my 19' Wriedt the same way. Getting it back on the trailer when there is a little wind is probably where I noticed it the most.

No problem

Incase you didn't know. Mcmaster carr is the shit!  Their prices are great,  and we get their stuff in one day. They are in city of industry

Their shipping is usually 5 bucks or so
Yeah McMaster is solid, they have bailed us out at work plenty of times.

I'm sorry I don't.

I just bought 8 1/8 npt steel bungs and drilled holes and welded them into the primaries.

I also drilled 1/8" holes in the bottom most point of the primary tubes for weep holes

Then I bought 1/8 npt to -3an fittings and screwed them in
Sounds easy enough.  Thank you.

Would you happen to have a picture handy so I could see your setup?

Schoenfeld makes sbc boat headers in different sizes.

This might be the way I go. Just not sure I want to run dry headers. Thanks for the info.

Those Schoenfelds look nice. I wonder if they will weld the flanges on upside down? I need the Stahl pattern so I cant just flip them. I like your boat and plan on going the ls route when this motor runs its course

I was wondering the same thing. Can I just flip them?

Good luck! I've been looking for a while and haven't found anything decent. I'm probably gonna have to drop $1200 on a new set from bassett.

this one looks like it uses the bellhousing holes and the accessory holes on the heads.
