HA! Actually, wasn't as drunk as I'd like,

But it was a fun summation of the conversation. Twas probably closer than Renee would like, but however.

It started out as a "Ten Commandments fot Jet Bosts""

Mike (Rivertard) and I talked a bit tonight, and after a vote, we decided we needed a standard form when addressing "significant others" interrogations on our earlier, albeit, they weren't present, behavior.

It was unanimous, and I'll give you it was just the two of us........BUT............ and feel free to cut/copy/paste into Word, Office, whatever you have to save your ass and fill in the blanks. The important part is to MEMORIZE IT.......THIS is gonna come in handy........

"What happened was.................___________________ _____ asked me to help him _______________________ You know I'd do anything for you or a friend, even if it was your brother. So I show up with my __________________ and there's ______________ & _______________ .

Makes things easier than I thought going into this, I thought.

Not exactly. _____________________  drags out a ______________________ and things went awry from there. I, personally did not partake of the _________________ But the second hand ________________________ had its effect on me, and I apologize for even being around it.

I was dying of thirst so I opened what I thought was a _________________   and here it was a ___________________  only after I chugged it did I realize my mistake. Three times, in point of fact, how dumb am I?  The ability to count was mute at this point.

I was recovering from that incident when I went back to ______________________'s truck to call you, left my phone there.

That's when I tripped on the kiddie pool. I didn't know it was full of ______________________ and naked women with cell phones who took pictures. Honest  mistake. Those girls didn't have much of a sense of humour, really.

The Glitter came from the back seat of ___________________'s truck. His daughter/grand daughter (circle one)  is into "Bedazzling" whatever the hell that is. Funny story, actually, he opens his window, glitter flew everywhere. Of course, due to earlier incidents, guess where the glitter stuck.

So to answer your question, No, I wasn't out drunken galavanting with  bunch of strippers/hookers, there's your logical explanation of things................"

Hope this helps.....

That's my Moo! A little optimistic on price tho. I'd be hard pressed to go 3 grand knowing I'm changing the engine anyway.

I know what I sold her for, and regretted that but needed the money. two grand or so, he keeps the motor. Don't need another 460 here...............

Guy ain't lying either  phucking  boat is FAST......even with a standard 320 horse 460 in it.

The No Wake Zone / So Pat says........
« on: August 12, 2015, 01:10:42 PM »
So Pat calls me last night. One of quite a few ( I won't name names Mike) over the last year or so, and I appreciate each and every one of you! Know this! And I don't think i've ignored any of You.

Reason it hit me is, yeah, I haven't been on the site or even Facebook for, what? 2 years (according to Pat..........and we KNOW he's a math genius.........)

Honestly, didn't realize it or time it. Two businesses, running all over Phoenix and Tucson and everything in between.......Got the "Sewer Pickle" still that we last ran at Big River 3 years ago......my lone survivor of all the floats I broke (Or burned, sold or/and sank). Happens to be Olds 455 powered, but the silly thing JUST WON'T BREAK!!

Anyway, Pat brings up the "Woodgrain Wonder" and we had a good talk for a couple of hours. At the end of which we decided we're going to do Big River before the end of the season. So I'm taking a "sabbatical" and making this happen sometime in September.

Going to fly my oldest daughter, and my grand daughter, in for this from North Carolina. The state with the highest deportation rate........Anyway, Becca and RJ probably wont be there, they're in college now.....explains my finances.....and we all know the little kids are the ones we have the most fun with anyway!

Right now, I've got a rare lull. Storms last night knocked out power to the shop, and I've got a window here with 5 trucks sitting outside. Pat, among many things we call him, is timing. As I told Pat last night, best thing about him is his wife.  I'm sure I'm gonna get punched for that eventually, but it's true. Worst part is, I gotta pick where I get it.

Any of you new to the SoCal group, know this if nothing else. You re dealing with the most knowledgeable and helpful group of people on the planet! Now, not to say we don't mess with each other........we do.......regularly.......don't misinterpret that stuff. Like the time HDRider told me a needed a "Carb Reverse Kit" for my tunnel ram.........3 phone calls to Summit and Jegs.........I realized he was mesin with me. All documented here. Talked to him last week. We don't hold grudges!

At Any rate, and far too late......Pat says "sell everything and get an outboard"........

Phuck him.......

Yes, been awhile. to answer a few questions first.

No, wasn't prison.....although some think I still should!

And No, I didn't ignore/avoid anyone.

Naw, the situation arose stemming from a simple DUI arrest back in '09 before I even knew any of you

I thought it was over and done with. And was, according to new information and the DMV I just dealt with Monday to get my shiney new license! ( albeit a picture of this half bald, grey haired guy weighing 200 lbs and not my ORIGINAL picture from 20 years ago.........Fukin' DMV..........)

This was the WORST legal battle I had ever been involved in. This is including the custody battle for my kids back in '00 or '01 or so. Don't even care to look it up. I won, DMV lost, lets have a few!

Some of you know, some don't, so I'm gonna outline what happened. And why it turned into a military quarantine, well, we'll get into that. But if you live in Az? Pay attention!

I had taken my brother and SIL to the lake in March, '09. The sole purpose was to find a spot to hold my SIL's oldest daughters graduation party. Grandparents would be there from Iowa, ETC. OK .

Day at the lake,  Wednesday. Not even a full day, and yes, I had a beer or 5.........

We make it back to Tempe to drop by brother and his wife off to pick up their car. Kinda funny now, but he say "you OK to drive?",  I'm like, "no different than normal or ever"

Got not even 2 miles from the shop on the 101 when the cop showed up. Not even gonna get into the tricks and BS he tried to get me to swerve whatever. Pulled me over for my license plate on my boat trailer swinging and he couldn't read it. I had the Moo boat at the time, and yes it was on a hinge to save it from launching/recovery.  Kill me. Yea I blew  .081.

Nope. Statie wanted my ASS at that point. So I faced and was charged with 4 counts of aggravated extreme DUI.

I dug through this for a couple years thinking "surely, SOMEONE WITH COMMON SENSE IS GOING TO SEE THIS"

Nope. ALL trucks rated rated over  10000 lbs combination are rated "commercial" and thus require special "tags" (we'll get into the tags later, this is gonna be a long post). I drive an F350. Guess what? YUP Commercial vehicle, guess what else? I've had and maintained a CDL for many years only to help out my late father when and if I needed to. Trailering a boat, AND my kids in the truck! A$$wipe made the trifecta!

So back to the arrest, yes, it was a 5'4" (or less) guy fresh back from Iraq or Afganistan, who knows or cares, they ALL are. Cops piss me off in general because they think they are above all us, first, but SHORT cops? HEH! Whole different category! Napoleaon Complex, Short Man Syndrome, whatever you want to call it, somebody thought it a bright idea to give them a gun and authority......go figure........
Any cop under 5'10" Screw you...... You're automatically a dick............

So anyway, I get a lawyer (Almost as bad as a short cop, but he doesn't have a gun....) We head into court first day. This was the first time I realized I was facing 15 years in prison for what I thought was maybe a well deserved DUI..........

This is the end of '14. And its FINALLY OVER!

Have I gotten any of the $17K involved in the fight? No

Did I Recoup any money " Yeah..... RIGHT!

I did, however, win that one cell or nucleus of a cell, of dignity in winning and THEN begin my fight with the DMV beauracracy........That was 2 years ago when I found out, through the Gilbert PD, that my license was in fact, suspended. Got real ugly over there, and to this day, if I ever see that cop again, his car, his well being, and anyone anywhere near him that know him are in serious jeopardy and peril......

2 years after that, the DMV says "Hey! you can get your license back"......Like THAT has stopped me.......and so today, I spent the $95 to get it officially restored.

Engines / Engine Parts For Sale / Re: Enderle stack injection
« on: September 25, 2013, 04:46:20 AM »
Im not sure what the CFM numbers are for carbs. Stack injection has one butterfly per hole, which in this case are 2-5/8" butterflies. The injection doesn't fire like electrical injection. The Mechanical set up is a constant fuel system. There are 8 injectors that are constantly putting fuel down the cylinder. There is a distribution block that increases flow into the injectors as you move the throttle. The rate is regulated by one (pill) or jet. Tuning is backwards from a carb set up. If you want to lean out the system, then you use a bigger pill, to reduce fuel pressure. Richer you use a smaller pill to add fuel pressure into the system. The injectors come in lots of sizes. The injector size is like a power valve or accel pump in a carb. it allows only so much fuel in the cylinder. The more pressure will ad more fuel but that's why the fuel pumps are flowed. The mechanical fuel pump doesn't run only one flow. As the motor increases RPM the pump, pumps more fuel increasing the pressure. Its a real simple system once you understand how they work. Hopefully this helps and doesn't confuse you more. Ill be in parker this weekend if you see me come by and I can explain it more by showing the parts.

The Beav

CFM Numbers do not apply to Mechanical injection, or electronic, for that matter, in practical applications. They can outflow any two carb scenario you can even imagine. As Dave pointed out, 2 5/8" butterflies and 8 of them. I have blower injectors even bigger. SHOW me a pair of Holley Dominators with THAT big a butterfly AND the means to supply fuel in enough capacity to properly mix with it..........

Jet Pumps / Re: What Jacuzzi pump is this
« on: September 18, 2013, 08:04:10 PM »
It's not a terrible pump but don't expect to see and faster than 45 ish. It's meant for larger cruiser boats. It's more of a high volume low pressure pump opposed to a high pressure low volume berk pump.

Sent from my iPhone using SoCalJetBoats

I gotta go with this, because it's not a "Bad"pump. I have one with an Energizer kit on it and diverter, and it performs just fine. Granted, It's no Berk, Dominator, or A/T, but it DID wake the boat up. This is on a VERY heavy 19' so I can't really say what it'll do on a "real" 18' lightweight jetboat.

Lotsa 'glass work to change it over, or spend the bucks on the kit. Which will basically make that thing into a Berk JE with a split bowl..............

« on: August 14, 2013, 09:52:06 PM »
Chromey, pull apart the top part of that dizzy. get down into the mechanical advance unit. Sounds like a tossed spring on there to me. If that's the case, call, I can walk you through how to fix that with a pair of pliers. (Learned how from an original IBM Exec when I'd have spring issues on typewriters years ago.......)

If that ain't it, and all is well and good under there. I'm gonna guess here. You have THE Unilite dizzy Moo ran for years, no issues. So if it ain't the mechanical advance tryin to a$$ fuck with you, double, triple check the timing set on the cam. Pull the Dizz and see that the gear is OK, and the pin ain't sheared.

Are you absolutely sure you didn't flatten a lobe or two on the cam? Lifter Failures?  :o

Rayson

Great boats! I had one for a very short time. Built a BBC for it, cleaned it up a little. Someone at a dock offered me more money than the fun I thought it was so I sold it after only a couple short runs.  :banghead: SOB WAS FAST! It had a TH400 in it and I never did get it into 3rd gear.

My understanding is, the ones to have back in the day were the Rayson Craft, Biesemeyer, Sanger, and Rogers (probably forgetting a couple others in there, but I'm just coming off 2 18 hour days in a row and probably3 hours sleep). I recently passed on another Rayson Craft, but a jet. This one with the cav plates, down pedal, all that, but only a mild BBC in it. Too much money. Boat looked good for 45 years old, but needed work.

Does anyone know any history on Race craft hulls.  My uncle has a hull that is a 1972 Race craft V-drive.  Just trying to find a little info on the history of that make of hull.  If anyone has any info that would be great.  Thanks

Race Craft or "Rayson Craft" ? 1972 would lead me to believe the latter not the former. ;)

I was about a month old when my mom started taking me to the East Palestine, Ohio City park for swimming lessons, water awareness... I was probably a little over a year old when my Dad first threw me out of my Unc's boat on the Ohio River and made me swim back. At 4, Unc got me on Ski's for the first time and assured me you NEVER let go of the rope no matter what.....

Right about this time is when I started to question the intelligence of my elders........  :sly:

Sorry for me, my kids never fell for any of that......much brighter than I was, I guess.........

Nope not for a ford sorry. I love the stacks as well they work perfectly, plus they look bad ass.

Who ever picks these up they will be happy. Don't be scared about what people say. Everyone will tell you that you cant run them, well you can. People have seen me run them. It just takes a little learning. This is my very first set that I have ever run and I was able to do it. I will help anyone out that needs it too. I have learned a lot about this type of injection.

The Beav

They truly aren't that difficult to run and operate.  Anyone that gets this from Dave, I happen to have a Chevy cam drive spud around I don't need. Complete with shims and Torrington bearing. ;)
