Also I believe that those run a serpentine belt and pulleys that might be an issue finding. Somebody might offer a belt and pulley conversion to run 8mm or 1/2 pitch setup (more conventional and way easier to find)

I believe what you are looking at there is not an 8-71 but a B&M 420 mega blower. There are all kinds of parts for an 8-71. But for the B&M 420 rebuild kits (seals) are available from places like the Blower Shop. Internal hard parts might be a lot harder to come by.
My advice would be call the Blower Shop and ask before you buy.

Engine Mechanical / Electrical / Re: Pulling Olds 455 form Rayson Jet

I would not use the head bolts for lifting if I were you. Use a Carb adapter plate. Something like this https://shop.advanceautoparts.com/p/autocraft-universal-engine-lift-plate-ac641/10042662-P?source=certona
If you pull and use the head bolts to lift they can bend. Also they are torqued to a specific amount and equally with the other bolts. And possibly in a ?wet? hole meaning you will have to use sealant for re-install.
And yes to splitting the drive shaft with the 4 bolts, that?s the correct way to remove it.

If you don?t have luck with the alcohol try a pressure sprayer. If the base paint is solid it should lift the latex off without lifting the base paint.
Good luck

I would guess that when you re-installed the intake manifold you didn’t get a good seal around the water jacket between the manifold and the cylinder head and water is leaking into the lifter valley. Just a guess?

My number is the same.

I’m not sure how to link it. Search for:
“Project 84' Liberator tunnel”

Post # 27 is about the seats

Bendable plywood, also known as Curve-Ply, Flexply, Wacky Wood and Wiggle wood. Can be purchased at a real lumber store ( not Home Depot or Lowe’s)
Comes in multiple thicknesses, I chose 3/8 and laminated (with wood glue) 2 pieces together to get 3/4
I have pictures and description in my build thread from like 9 years ago. I’ll see if I can link it here.

« on: August 23, 2012, 05:19:37 PM »
Actually, I have spent a lot of time in a SeaDoo "Speedster" the twin engine one and they a hell of a lot of fun!
But to be fair, They really are not boats, They are more like A big dumb PWC on steroids!
And if I was going to buy one it would be a SeaDoo.

Still a lot of fun.............. Just not a real jet boat! ;D
