The No Wake Zone / Re: Needing hull identification
« on: April 16, 2022, 07:32:26 PM »
If anyone has any old pics of this boat in front of Lazy Harry's, please post them! I'm mapping the graphics and fades and will be stripping the hull and repainting it as close as possible to original.

I've hauled it home and am in the process of removing the remaining dirt. I can tell you this boat was rode hard before it was made a planter with really janky repairs made to seat braces, stringers and gunnel supports.
I'm going to try to carefully remove the lovely latex paint to expose the original graphics (a LOT of really cool candy panels and fades), but the graphics underneath are paint (probably lacquer) not gelcoat. Going to try isopropyl alcohol on the latex and see what happens.

Some of you may recognize this boat as it's had a long history of sitting. I bought it to save the neighborhood history associated with it, but it'll never get wet again. 16' whacker...
No HIN, but would like to figure out who the builder was years ago. May post what we're doing to it in the project section later with what I've found about why it wound up high and dry.

Anyone know what the diameter of typical jet steering cable end is (pump end)? I need to shim the cable to the steering tube and the boat's at the river so can't measure.

WTB / Re: WTB - loader for standard Berk
« on: March 15, 2017, 09:53:21 PM »
My post wasn't a response to you. I was making a point that it's a common practice to borrow loaders for testing and that is my intent with finding a suitable used loader.

I wouldn't put a cheap or used loader grate in it. When loader grates fail it can be catastrophic and sometimes deadly. Spend the money on the best loader you can afford. I know first hand!

Sent from my iPhone using SoCal Jet Boats
So you've never borrowed loaders for testing?

Still looking. I want to find an affordable used loader to get an idea if I'm on the right track.

Hate to, but the Canyon must go. Placecraft bottom, modified deck. It's unreal how little use there has been on this boat. Needs new interior (vinyl), but throw a couple fiberglass buckets in it and go racing. Major details:

990 mildly ported heads just freshened up
MSD 6AL, new cables, cap, rotor, custom wires
Dual remote filters
Offy dual quad tunnel ram with rebuilt 6109 750 Holleys (rebuilt)
Re-plumbed/hardlined fuel system
Dual stainless Imco tanks
Set back Berkeley "A" impeller, stuffer, blocker
Manual Place diverter
Shoe/ride plate
New 27 series battery
Boat cover
New trailer tires and lights, cleaned re-packed bearings
Way more

I can reply to a thread but not start a new one. When I try the gears are turning but never allows me to enter a subject, add text or submit it.
