Nice job!  Nothing better than the feeling you get the first time the motor fires up.

Yeah, I need a vacation to somewhere warm that I can get the boat wet and see how the new shoe and ride plate work.

Plugs too long for pistons?  I'm not 100% sure but I think there may be 2 different lengths available for spark plugs.  I know you could use copper gaskets to decrease the amount the plug goes in.

just sprayed mine today with 2K urethane primer from Kustom House.I got it and all my other paint from TCP Global in SanDiego. If the base clear sprays as nice as the primer did I will be very happy not expensive and sprays real nice ;D

I Used the same for my boat.  Although it was my 1st total paint job, everything went on well except the clear.  I had a hard time with runs.  If I do another I will use a different clear

Engine Mechanical / Electrical / Re: oil
« on: September 22, 2009, 07:57:16 PM »
I have been running the same oil and get almost identical numbers.  After it gets real warmed up mine will drop to 40 at idle.  No problems like this for 2 seasons.  Engine is coming out tomorrow for a new oil pan gasket though so I will peek at the bearings to see how they like the pressure. >:D

Now would that be a Kosher Dill or a German Dill?  If it was a kosher dill I would say it would take about 2 shakes of a frogs tail.
But if it were a German Dill it would depend on how hard the wind was blowing :-*

Pictures can be deceiving.  I'm sure there was a wave I bounced off to get it that high just before the picture was taken 8)

Also I meant the 1st pic of the wheelie was jet-o-vator all up, these are 2 notches below  that.  I get no roost at all up and have adjusted for even more down/less up for my next time out to try and stave off the porpoise.

This is more realistic of how wet it runs when it is not porpoising.

The No Wake Zone / Re: Loader issue?
« on: September 01, 2009, 08:19:49 PM »
Well, I guess my question is will there be any negative effect using nothing.  I doubt I can get a rock grate before this weekend...

The porpoising starts at plane and worsens with speed.  Once it starts it will get progressively worse at the same speed.  The ONLY way to stop it is to slow down off plane, increasing speed makes it worse faster.

If I am alone in the boat I can get a good high speed run if the lake is calm, again, waves can start the bouncing and once it starts...

I like the loader as far as keeping the pump loaded,  NEVER had it cavitate at any speed.

It just seems like having something dragging that deep below the bottom of the boat might be somehow pulling the bow down

The center of the weight distribution is almost exactly at the the tires on the trailer as I can lift the tongue with 1 finger with nothing under the bow.

As far as the bottom, It is not perfect, but it is much better than it was last season, as I redid the bottom before I painted it and straightened everything.  The porpoising did not change.

The No Wake Zone / Loader issue?
« on: August 31, 2009, 11:35:22 PM »
I have been having problems with porpoising in my boat since I can remember.  Seems to get worse the more weight that is in the boat.
The loader that is on it extends a long way beneath the bottom.  I decided to take off the loader and see if this helps.  Will I be able to get an accurate test result with nothing bolted up there, ie I replaced the bolts into the holes with silicone, but I dont have even a rock grate to bolt up to it right now?  Could this even be the cause of the porpoising?

I also noticed when I removed it that one side is longer than the other...

Jet Pumps / Re: Have anyone seen this?
« on: August 30, 2009, 04:05:39 PM »
I am looking to switch to a place divertor actually.  It is OK, does not make a rooster tail, but it will keep the bow down.  Maintainance  has consisted of replacing the nylon o rings.

Hulls / Re: Two piece hull issue

I think you are referring to capping.  There are several threads you can find on how to do it.  I did mine this year and so far it is holding together.

I think I would have glassed a bit farther out from the hole if I did it again though for added strength and security.  Be sure to do the inside also.

This one covers it too, plus it may be my favorite restoration thread O0

The paint is from TCP Global, I just selected it from their internet pics.  It was my 1st attempt at painting so it has some flaws once you get close, ie runs and now a big deep scratch.  Looks like I will get to try my 1st attempt at fixing paint after this season ends.

Yeah, the last one is me flooring it with the jet-o-vator all the way up  ;)

Color is call firemist-red.

The lake is kinda of small but there are never more and 6-10 boats on it and most of them are fishing
