Engines / Engine Parts For Sale / Re: BLOWN 468 BBC

BADA$$!! Solid front end wagon. Wagons always scaled so nice because of weight in the rear. So what happened got too many views of the heavens after hammering it and soiling your drawers?

Engine Mechanical / Electrical / Re: New hull and pump. Now motor????

Nice looking boat!!! Honestly like someone mentioned just get a different impeller, finish up all the odds and ends, drop in your engine as is and get your a$$ on the water. Shelf the good impeller for now and enjoy. Spend, no pun intended, the winter thinking about how much you want to spend and how far you want to go with it. Looks like you have enough to keep you busy for now. Im sure a stocker type impeller could be found for peanuts compared to building your whole engine around the pump.

Hulls / Re: Rainbow boats ??? Any info on them

Pass? Even if something is free the money to make something go could be crazy money and labor. We don't know anything about the engine compression and leak down or even if its water tight. Unless your mechanically able to do it all, it could get ya. I didn't notice your location and you got ask yourself is it possible the engine could of froze and cracked block and/or heads.  Sitting since 2005 where outside? Is the wood framing/floor soft? I'd be cautious of it thats all. Very cautious.

I cant help not thinking if I saw this floating down Parker, he would have few members from here tied on and sitting with him. I'd be guilty of this.

My before and after pics. Used the epoxy paint. Cleaned everything with thinner and went to town. Epoxy paint is slow to dry but very strong. I sanded with those 3m fiber pads. Very happy with it.

Oh no, that is screwed! Good luck with the shop. I had something similar happen, the hospital left a shop rag (sponge) in my gut, all I got was another surgery and 5 days in a coma - hope you come out better than that.
WTF?!?! Damn sorry to hear that one.

Engine Mechanical / Electrical / Re: 460 jetting for Big Bear Lake
« on: June 28, 2013, 01:32:29 pm »
I've got a 77' Hallett pushed along the water by a stock 460. I've got a Holley 750 on it and she is tuned perfect here (Torrance,CA) and runs great at the river. Was wondering how much issue I'd have with my jetting in Big Bear

Buddy has a condo up there with a private dock soooo why not right??

Any help is appreciated.
Not sure about Big Bear and a jetboat. I heard, and this is what I heard, lots of lake salad floating around and the po-po just love the jetboats.

Interesting...car temp same at 1:00pm. BUT...I checked one of my service trucks that's been sitting all day and its hood measured 130*F at its hottest spot.
NOTE to self: never buy boat with black anything.
Wish I had a sheet of aluminum that was natural, polished and one painted white-to see how different temps would be. My guess is polished would be hottest. Just thinking of fuel temps on boat from sitting on lake all afternoon. Cooler fuel is denser so....hmm
Kudos to previous owner of my boat for installing white seats and white steering wheel.

is the car outside or under a cover? It looks like its under a cover of some sort.
outside wide open to sun. Just reflection from building
