Lower River / Half a** guide to big river
« on: June 16, 2009, 08:39:55 AM »
since we will have some new people coming out this weekend i guess id throw this together really quick.
from the top down
day park where u guys will launch
My park
rope swing, on AZ side just below the bridge
a cove/ beach everyone refers to as shell beach. alot of lost lake hardware hangs there.
i havent been down river all season so maybe someone else can confirm there still accessible and all good.
below this red spot theres lost lake, water wheel, ahaquinn, etc. id bring some gas if you go any further than the beach.

next map
Day park/dock restuarant
big river inn
nice sandy beach, when the water is all the way up you lose the beach
light blue spot above it, stay to the right of the river, its a long nasty rockbar.
Wally beach, i spend a ton of time there
island across from wally, alot of the big river rv park guys hang out here. the beach has alot of shells on it.

note: above the parker bridge, just below the dam there is a cove on the left hand side that can get pretty busy as well.

Hulls / Hull setup and handling???
« on: June 14, 2009, 11:34:33 AM »
This winter I'll be rerigging the whole boat. I have been thinking alot lately about while it's bare, to flip it and strAighten the bottom. Would there be any point to do a setback in my little boat besides getting the hand hole out of the boat? I can do the work, so the cost doesn't matter. Left turns in the boat are sketchy. The boat stands on it's side and digs the bow rail in. Would this be from a hook? Right turns are flat and can take em fast. The lefts I thought were caused by weight distribution, but it always does it. The boat planes out faster than any boat I've seen or driven. So I'd like to get some input from the veterans here.

Engine Mechanical / Electrical / Small block questions
« on: June 03, 2009, 08:32:02 PM »
im really debating on whether or not to stroke the smallblock to a 383 for next summer. currently im at a 355 running 10:1. i dont know what cam it has in it. i use every bit of 400rpm. doesnt rev anymore than that. previous owner says it has 2.02 heads and they are camelback heads. i want a little more powers and still be able to use pump gas. would i be able to build the motor into a 383 for fairly cheap, and would a 383 be good for a jet?
and would it be fairly reliable?

Boat Showcase / My first jet. 69 schiada
« on: April 19, 2009, 09:18:15 PM »
heres a lil peach i found and bought today. 1969 Schiada 16' 355 SBC 10:1 rv cam berk B-pump. all O.G. including the upholstery. The plans are to either throw some towels over the seats and use it this season, or see if i can get a deal and  re structure the seating configuration. carpet is high on the list. funds are low but shes a runner! the gel is in pretty damn fine condition since it is a 40 year old boat. the glass in the floor is gorgeous. has stainless tanks.
i do need to replace the cables though. i gotta figure out what model morse they are.
forgive my ignorance, but i have never seen a pump nozzle like the one i have. its got like some scoop deal where the fin normally goes. anyone shed some light on that? also i got a extra set of edelbrock exhaust with it.
