Hey ford guys I need some help! I ended up with a Tahiti jet boat in a trade and at the time the motor was not running and was told that it needed some lifters and pushrods and some minor tlc. For the record I Know the boat ran for a few years and from what I was told it ran really well. Well upon going through it I found some damage to a lifter so I pulled the cam and it had 2lobes noticeably worn down so I so I began the process of trying to find a cam kit for it. My problem is I don't know exactly what has been done to motor so I began checking for numbers and I'd. The block is a DIVE-6015-A2. The pistons are SRP 74F which when I looked them up it says they are flat/inverted top pistons with a 4.440 which I found to be .80 over I believe. The rods are C9AE 6210-5 which are boss 427 rods. The heads are C8VE-E and the cam is a comp cam uh 1051 310b-8. The guy I got it from said it is 10.1 compression but a buddy of mine says he thinks it is 11.1. The other components in motor are roller rockers..tunnel ram w/ 2 demon carbs that I'm not sure of size due to I can't find any numbers on carbs. So here's my problem I'm not a avid Motörhead but half way knowledgeable on the workings of a motor so I go to my neighbor who is a lifetime gearhead to ask him for help even know he is a chevy guy . He says that .80 over is to much and 11.1 is not the best with pump gas. Like I said I know the boat ran well for the guy and was told by others it ran very strong. So what is the best path to take on this little freshen up job. I've read a crap load of posts and a lot say .80 over is no good. Others say it is fine as long as it is a early 70s block which I believe it is. I'm not really sure on the head work but I was told that they where machined to match intake and it looks to have heavy springs but not sure of any port work. So any advice to try and help me get this thing in the water this year would really be appreciated. And can somebody give me an idea of what horsepower and torque this thing might put out. Thanks again for your time if you made it through this extremely long post.
