We really cant tell you without knowing the exhaust on the engine.   Seems pretty tame especially with the 114 lsa

There is no way to tell if the engine that is in the boat is even original or even of the original brand.   Best to just post up a picture of the engine here so we can take a look.

No the speedmaster heads is what we went with. We have had them checked over and are very good quality. And has them massaged a little

running them as cast or puting a little port work on them?

Damn, thats a lot of duration even for a 496.  What are you expecting for HP peak?  im thinking it will come in around 6300

The No Wake Zone / Re: Fuel efficiency
« on: September 05, 2023, 09:04:40 AM »
No, that seems excessive.  Are you just playing around and pulling tubes, skiers etc.?  we figure roughly 3 miles per gallon with all of our big block jet boats.  Combination Lake and river.  We cruise 3400 - 3800 rpms on average and always at least a few full throttles roosts along the ride lol

In my 4000 jet boat, i can boat all over Havasu, up river to the sandbar, pirate cove etc and i figure about about 20 gallons a day.  i would say thats a good 3.5 to 4 hours of run time per day

Hey there,

That is just the oil pressure sending unit.  is your oil pressure gauge working?  your sender wire just goes in between the nuts on top.

Well everything is balanced all parts are in except main caps now they are being custom made for the block. Just fyi if anyone ever needs new main caps for a 455 olds the milodon 455 olds caps do not fit unless they did not drill the holes correctly from the factory?

Thats wild, what about the caps didnt fit?

I always wanted to go roller lifter on my 442 but its pretty steep still for olds....

The front timing cover is a big culprit especially with fresh water cooling as the thin 1/8" plate starts pitting pretty bad.

Isn't Tahiti is in that same center? Yea those boys do some clean work, worked with a couple of them at Cobra. That makes sense because I could've swore it looked like an Ultra stealth.

Sent from my SM-A536U using SoCal Jet Boats mobile app

Not in the same center but i think they are only miles away.  I think the 21 and 24 were from stealth.  I think their 22 deck is a placecraft bottom half.  not sure on the others.

Where to start?
My old azz eliminator day cruiser is supposedly a 3800 lb hull, per Eliminator. Then add a 454 and pump (650 lbs?) and (2) 25 gallon tanks, and all the BS for a day on the river, I'm guessing at 4800 lbs?

Bigger boats need bigger impellers. Mine runs a AA from American Turbine. It's slightly larger than a 2A from Berkeley.
With ~500 HP,  turns the AA to 4950-5000 rpm, at a blistering 57 mph, going up river, with 3 others and myself. Would probably hit 60 by myself and minimal fuel.

Tows grandkids on inflatables easily, and a 275+ lb single skier without hesitation.

Floats in ankle deep water (avatar pic)

Big enough for Mohave, but easy enough for the river at Bullhead.

Dan'l

What is the year and model of your eliminator if you dont mind?  ill add the info.

Yep even with the big boats the jet will float in mid shin water, its awesome.

After the last few trips to havasu, im leaning to swapping in a AA impeller.  tired of 4000 launches for a spirited get up on plane.  3600 cruise is a bit annoying too.  My old tahiti ('69) would haul ass at 3200

Pretty sure I just saw a 24 jet on a triple axle trailer at Tahiti, thing definitely looked heavy even without any rigging. Skv made a 22 jet too if I'm not mistaken, my swind is just shy of 22 bow to nozzle and it gets it. If only I could stop mistreating it .

Sent from my SM-A536U using SoCal Jet Boats mobile app

The upholstery shop by my office does all the interiors for Tahiti.  The 24 has been over here and is a good looking boat.  I forget who they bought the mold from, i think it is ultra. i have a picture somewhere
