Has anybody seen the video that was on the same page as this one - Jet boats to White Zombie? Pretty cool and it seems as tho there are quite a few familiar looking boats in it. It was new to me anyways.

I couldn't believe that they would have every day thru the entire summer b ooked but that was the conclusion that I arrived at when I couldn't get them to answer the phone even back at the beginning of June. We stayed there a few times 8-10 years ago and liked it but it seems as tho the place is not so secret anymore. Does anyone know if I can use the beach and ramp if I'm staying in Parker?

Most make $7..75-8.50.  A cook at In-N-Out can make j$14.00 or so but all In-n-Out peeps hustle non-stop and the product is good and the order in never f'd up. Housing is still ridiculously expensive but its mostly becuz everyone wants to live here. I believe Texans pay a whole bunch more in property taxes than we do too. Many of us drive a one hour commute to work that at least once a week turns into an hour and a half also, just so we can pay the rent.

Really sorry to hear about you problems, but ya had me laffing out loud because of the way you tell it. And like OC2 says the bright side is that you can now buy another jet. That's a good thang. Now go check your other  fire extinguishers before you forget.

Be thankful you are working with a 454 as parts are cheaper and more plentiful for these motors than most others.

Bear in mind I have never owned a BBC in my life but LS6 or 7 motors can make 400hp/450ftlb with little trouble and with stock(ish) heads. I'm just saying that putting together a motor that will last is going to cost at least a third more than what I saw on those two links you posted. In my old boat that was similar to yours I ran a 400 sbc w/ a corvette cam from around 1978 up until about 5 yrs ago. It still runs, we just don't use it anymore. It had enough HP to once pull up 4 skiers at once out in front of water wheel camp. You can easily spend $1500 just putting Edlebrock heads on. Not sure that is the best use of your money if you are on a budget. Put a quality long block together and you can add to it down the road.
Again, this advice is worth what you paid for it.

I know that is how you feel now, but once you have it running reliable THEN you'll wish you had more ponies.  I'm just saying that 2-3K will be adequate and probably not long lived. A quality crate motor is going to run you twice that but will last 10 years even as often as you go to the river. Talk to the people at Speed-O-Motive out by you. Get the parts from them and any reputable machine shop can put together a BBC.

Those prices are too cheap. I think  you will be disappointed in the HP and warranties mean very little if the mfg doesn't want to back up his work. I have been to State of Calif Arbitration court and small claims w/ a rebuilder and no one will force them to back their work. I looked at the specs on the Chrysler motors as that is what I am most familiar with and they are not even using the bigger valves in a 500 cu in stroker motor. My .02

What kind of ballpark price can I expect to pay to have a Berkley pump gone thru?  It works I just suspect it is fairly worn out. I don't have a problem spending money on good parts but it is motivating a 23ftdaycruiser w/ a 455 not a blown flatty.

You nail your hand and then you go and bang on your keyboard. That's taking one for the team buddy. Did you at least stop at the fridge or the first aid kit on the way to the 'puter? I'm having a shot of Patron for you right now so no worries.
