Just got back from Lake Perris, going out to hElsinore tomorrow. My buddy says he can clock me with his Mastercraft up to 50mph so I will be able to get an estimate on top end. If you see a red on white big f'n day cruiser thats me. Come say Hi.

I am kind of in the same boat (pun intended) as I am unhappy with the perf of the Olds in my new boat, but I know a awful lot is being asked of it to pull a 23ft boat around with the speed I am used to in my 18ft 400cu in Horizon. I have seen at least 3 complete nearly new Olds for sale under $1500.  I don't know whether it make sense spend big $$$ to change over. I have always been a Mopar guy and I haven't ruled out going that route either. Does anyone know it I can get 450-500 ft/lbs of torque down low out an OLds 455 for cheap. I don't care about ever seeing 60mph.

If you looked under the phone in your avatar I'm guessing that'd be bout the same color as the rug. I'm sure it looks better on her than in my boat .  I'm not real good w/ this computer stuff but I might be able to email them to you if you wouldn't mind posting em for me. But I'm not doing nuthin more tonight, gotta work tomorrow. Wish I was at the river bout now.

There's lots of it. If you have any resto projects going on I would gladly send some your way. It won't show beer stains but it is sure to get people to notice your boat.

No worries - not much trailer time. It seemed to be a floating advertisement for his detailing biz, Arizona Reflections. It has a Berkley but I hav no idea which impeller. After this summer that is the first thing I am going to look into is building the pump right. I want a lot more power out of the hole cuz I want to ski behind her and I am a big guy. I know I shouldnt have said that around here ooops. Tossing around lots of ideas for the motor during the winter. I want to ski now as this boat leaves an un-freaking believable flat wake for its size. Flatter than my 18ft Horizon even. However the shag carpet under the bow is coming out much sooner. Why would anyone put shag carpet anywhere on a boat? Jeez.  Real comfy up there for uh, umm, sleeping. Yeah that's it sleeping.

Towards the end of last year I bought the daycruiser of  my dreams ... I hope. For over seven years I have been looking for the biggest jet powered daycruiser I could find. I wanted good looks in a well maintained boat for not much money. So far the only drawback to what I found is a 455 Olds and a butt-ugly brown interior from the 70's. She is a 1974 Wreidt 23'6" that has been owned for about a decade by a marine detailer in LHC. I can find out very little about this boat and the company that made it. I think they are still in business somewhere in Texas, but I don't think they manufacture anymore. Can anyone tell me what to expect or look out for with my new ride. So far I have only seen one other like it and it turned up the very first time I took my boat out. Roost on

Wow that's quite a project you've got going. What is the long range plan for this old girl?  I had never heard of Wreidt boats before I bought mine and I have only seen one other on the water. I am guessing they must be well built or you wouldn't have kept it this long or tried to restore it. Are you going to repaint w/ metalflake?  What comes next? Details man we need details.  Good luck with it.

It wasn't supposed to be pink. I used to work for an A/C & Heating shop and the owner built boats in the back. His gelcoat guy gave me a great price to redo my boat. I told him I wanted a rasberry w/ no metal flake similar to what it already was. What I got was pink. The shop;s owner paints everything blue and white so we then went around the outside edge of the hull with Ford blue and did a four color (rasberry, grey, blue nd white ) interior. I kind of like it but most everyone one else in the posse says  yuck its piiink. When it was purple it was called Plum Loco and I always liked the name.

Whoo hoo! My first post ... been lurking for about a week and like what I see. I have been skiing and tubing behind an 18ft Horizon that my parents bought around 1975. Most of the time it had a 400 chevy w/ a Z/28 crossram and a Corvette cam. Metalflake purple then, kind of a PeptoBismol pink now. Homemade rack for skis over the motor. Usually carries 2guys 3chicks n one skier. One time we actually got 5 people up behind it at one time. No sh*t. My grandfather owned the 500 acres just down river from Water Wheel until the early 1980's but that is long gone. Don't get me started on the Indians that run things now.
Last Sept. I bought a beautiful 23ft jet daycruiser from a marine detailer in LHC. I have been looking for a boat like this for over 7 years. My dream boat except for the Olds motor but that can and will be changed. Now me and the family spend most of the time at Perris and Elsinore. I don't want to ramble with stories of youth and debauchery but let me just say that some of my fondest memories have happened on the Colorado river and I just can't get it out of my system. Hell I've even eaten the freshwater clams from right out in front of the campsite. Ive seen the water so low that I could walk out to the center of the river where that tree stump has been for 40 yrs and set up my chair and icechest. I have had one of those 80ft cottonwood trees fall and crush my grandpa's mobile home while I was in it. I  (we) got so drunk once that no one tied up the boat and it was over 2 miles down river when we found it and pulled it back w/ a stand up JetSki.
If ya see a red and white daycruiser on the water locally and the driver is wearing one of those Chinaman hats & drinking a Pepsi w/ 2small kids sitting on the swim deck, idle on over. We love to party.
