Would it be a bad idea to try to put it out..?
I mean there is nothing but water around, and you might be able to salvage the hull.?

Yea thanks Tom,
Its a bummer, Belmont Boats went out of business 4 years ago, but i am going to call tomorrow, & maybe stop by Belmont Marine on Tuesday. Maybe they have "a guy" who can tell me more.
If the numbers on that back weren't so shady i wouldn't even doubt it, but they are.. lol

- Everyone within a X mile radius of the Marine Stadium has signed stipulations in agreeance that they are knowingly purchasing a home within distance of a motorsport racing venue.

- That venue was built in the 30's for the olympic rowboat events and has since held MANY historic motorsport events, probably dating back before this guy was even born.

Best points of all.!!

^ lol, anyways, it would be interesting to removce the old paint and find the real hull #
Its got the original paint.
The new number has been scratched over the old one.. there is no finding out what the old one was. lol
I'll take a picture of what the new number looks like..

Thanks, but no thanks on the 78 Beisemeyer. ;D

The No Wake Zone / Re: What year is my boat..?
« on: August 14, 2009, 01:06:26 AM »
Yes they didn't even bother to sand it down & paint over, they just gouged the new number over the old one. lol
Literally scratched into the paint.. DEEP with a scratch AWL or something. looks very sketchy. im sure it was stolen at some point, but i dont think that will be an issue, unless they are currently looking for it.
Thats just how it works.. if there is no numbers on it to prove it is the boat, & unless it was stolen recently they just generate a new VIN#. lol

Seems crazy, but im sure the original owner probably got reimbursed by insurance. (hopefully so, i dont need any bad karma... hey that might be a good name for it. lol)

I dont get offended easy, but..
I dont get it..!?
What is chili & falsified VIN mean.!? (where's the funny.?)

Call JIM BROCK @ CYCLONE SPEED & MARINE 818-890-1867. He has some, ready and waiting.
He didn't have ANY, new or used. lol  :sly:

I bought a pair (3 of them for $100) of used Bassett style from a guy on Performanceboats.com
I guess having a spare isn't such a bad idea.

Well the number ends with 74, but again it is scratched into the paint. lol
Not stamped like it should be.. scratched over the original.

**Update**
I found the registered owner for the scratched VIN#.. I called him, & his boat is in his garage.. lol
So i am going to have to generate a new VIN#, that is why i am asking if anyone knows the difference of Belmonts or any way to verify the year of my boat by looking at it, because the # is NOT for my boat. :)

Thanks for any help.

The No Wake Zone / What year is my boat..?
« on: August 13, 2009, 04:23:11 PM »
Ok so ive been to the DMV like 3 times this week trying to ge this new boat in my name, regietration, etc..

Now come to find out everything i have (number wise) is NOT for my boat. lol  :banghead:
My boat has a VIN# scratched into the paint on the back, & the CF# was one digit off from what matched the VIN.

Turns out the VIN is for a 1975 Belmont, but i called the registered owner, & he said his boat is in the backyard.. lol
So now i have a boat that im not even positive it is a Belmont, much less a 1975. :screwy:

I'm going to get it all worked out thru the DMV, I'm not too concerned with what to do there.. but when i tell them what it is, i want to make sure i tell them the right info. (or maybe i should tell them its a 1998 Sanger. LMAO)

So my question is this..
Does anyone know these boats well enough to confirm what it is.?
(it probably is a Belmont, & close to 75, but some more clarification would be nice)

Interior / New seats or re-do old seats.?
« on: August 12, 2009, 12:57:52 AM »
Is it cheaper to re-do old seats.?
I'm guessing it is, except that i've seen complete interiors on Craigslist for pretty cheap.

Where are some good places to look.?
I'm not building a dream boat, just looking to freshen it up a little.

Also whats the best way to clean them.? (that might help a lot)

I believe they are 600's (they are Edelbrock, im just not 100% that they are 600CFM)
I'm waiting for an email reply to get all the specs on everything. I'll add it when i do.
