If you run your boat only in fresh water and store it in a hested shop is it still important to get the water out ? what about getting some sort of rust inhibitor or coolant in place of the water

thanks Tom I really like the boat too we took  it out a couple of times after getting it home and it is a lot of fun even handles rough water well. We have great plans for it and have just begun to assemble parts and pieces mostly cosmetic at this point and once fall farming is done well spend the winter redoing it in the shop from top to bottom. I found a set of those Hardin Marine Aluminum head cover I called about on Craigslist in Arizona so that is 1 item off the list  Thanks for your info and help Im sure to have lots more questions over the coing months Gord

Is it a copy of another design and were they in buisness for long just curious thanks for any help. I love this site it has so much good advice

sand blasting trailer but I am going to strip the hull with ctri strip I have already tried it and it seems to work good but will not harm the fiberglass the reason for stripping is that the previous owner painted it himself his first try and there are large runs everywher and sanding is such a tedious job that i thought strip then prime and block by hand but I am open to all suggestions

I am also new to this site and have already found it to be a wealth of info. I purchased this 1976 pioneer 19 foot in california in early august and have hauled it home to B.C. for a total restoration from the ground up It has a 460 in it and the tag on the pump is a bit hard to read but I think it says JG-A it is my winter project
