Project Boats For Sale / Re: 1974 Hallett bubble deck
« on: July 05, 2015, 08:04:14 am »
Great hull.
I dig the color.
Those tanks hold gas but are deteriorated inside causing big headache fuel system wise.

I think Id be too far off if I made an offer.  Good luck

Ca says if you have an open engine compartment AND if your scoop is backwards you don't have to run a spark arrestor.  Pretty much saying if it is set so the blowback is directed away from the occupants your okay.
If you can prove the stack is coast guard approved you got nothing to worry about if not then if they are trying to get you you may end up decreasing Ca debt.

Got the carpet finished up around the new tanks
Put the scoop on the new carb
Gave her a bath then tucked her in for the night

Replaced the vacuum secondary 780cfm 3310 with a mechanical secondary 800 cfm Holley Marine D/P
Replaced the 3346 wix fuel filter
Cut the carpet where the old smaller tanks sat.
Note to self 29 series Battery holder is hard to find easy to order but a 27 series might have been the way to go
AND I rubbed my Relief and thought of GT Jets... :-*

That boat had the Original "Go Baby Go" switch

He has the blower on a switch just like Mad Max Road Warrior.

Id like to put it in my garage.  Wait not in a Caitlyn Jenner way but you know what I mean

My favorite video at the ramp is 2 guys back a E150 van 3/4 in the water and drive a jetski right into the back.

63
Another good rule of thumb for reverse is just like backing a trailer

Keep your hand on the bottom of the steering wheel while backing and whichever way you want the Ass end to go turn the wheel to that side

64
Yup only thing worse than letting any Ahole ride a motorcycle is letting any Ahole have a boat!!!

Engine Mechanical / Electrical / Re: Gate Valve Off Pump Inlet?
« on: May 31, 2015, 03:03:04 pm »
I would like to state the Jetfever is in no way affiliated nor does not endorse this thread....   and ladies bikini tops are not optional - Like Tpain said TAKE YOUR MOTHAwoopin shirt off.

I am not sure why this is always a debate.

Its easy on the wallet to try the gate.

It did not keep oil and excess pressure out of my block I had to use a regulator to keep pressure down on my boat.  I also only drive in lakes not sandy rivers. It was worth the money in my setup.  We all have a preference we swear by but this kept water out of my oil.

I think we all should listen to everyones advice and experiences choose what works for us collectively and not beat each other up over any of it.  Afterall that is one of the reasons we are all on here right.

Engine Mechanical / Electrical / Re: Carb help for my 455 olds
« on: April 11, 2015, 07:07:54 pm »
If your currently rocking a 600cfm ontop a stock 455 you dont need a $5,000 super adjustable 850cfm.  Yeah we all wanna say we got one but you dont need it

now Aluminum Intake and a 750cfm would be nice and gain lil power.  Its your money and your boat.

You don't need a choke but the marine 750cfm mechanical secondaries is the way to go

Geez.  Your a better man than me.

I'd slap a stockish used motor in it and Punt it away go drop motor is different Hull.

My buddy had built 496 in his Dont matter when it rode like shit and your knees slap the dash.  I hated riding in that thing.  Now I know why he couldnt get it to quit the damn Hull was never gonna let it settle down.  Weak

Sounds like you get the job done fast.  My wife tells me the same thing a few times a month.

Use to be a few times a day.  4 times once.  Seems so long ago then the kids happened and well now I have more time to discuss oil changes and gate valves OR no gate valves :P
