Title: 1967 18' Weimans Jet Boat Project
Post by: 75rogers on April 07, 2009, 10:13:22 AM
Weimans 18" Hull on a single axle trailer in very good condition. Trailer needs a little work in the rear where it caught a chunk of asphalt in the road but nothing major. Boat has a Berkeley pump in great condition.  Was setup with BBC but motor and mounts were removed. Needs TLC, upholstry but very strong foundation. Current trailer tags.  $600 obo.

I want to say length is the only issue.
Your gonna have to move the front plate forward .
The rear plate should stay right where its at.

this guy (that has it for sale now...not 75) was trying to tell me that if he wanted to put a 455 in he was going to have to find a way for a whole new drive shaft.... ???

lol.. the guy selling it said its set up for a SBC.  i would like to drop a 455 in.  he said he was going to drop a 455 in but the angle would be off and require a custom drive shaft.

i thought i could just put the 455 mounts in and go.  maybe the inset jet is causing problems??? ???

no, it wont require a custom drive shaft. you will have to realign the drive shaft so its straight when you put it in there with the 455 mounts.

i dont think it will be a problem unless you have the wrong pan (like a v-drive pan)

He might have the driveline that doesent take a PTO. Some of the older drivelines have the PTO built into it. If is a newer style (1310 or 1350) than all you have to do is buy a new PTO that fits the Oldsmopile.  Matt
