A friend of mine is selling his boat less pump and motor. There is nothing wrong with the boat he just bought a tunnel hull he had been looking for for a long time. Here is some pics let me know if any one is interested. $1500. aqlso wanted to add that the gel coat is original and the green pin stripes are gel coat not paint. And the interior only has one and a half seasons on it.
-
Your pics are way too big. ???
-
Meet me in Elpaso?
-
The pics are like that for a reason! When you blow them up you get a real good look at the details of the boat!
As far as meeting in El Paso that's up to him , I doubt it though that's a long drive and a lot of gas.

That slide thingy is only on the bottom pic. ;D
Yeah, that slide thingy moves all the pictures over. ;D
The Hawaiin had a 454 Chevy and a berkeley pump in it. That boat gets A LOT of compliments when it goes out. :o The boat is currently in San Diego, probably getting the "built to the hilt" Berkeley pump taken out of it. It has a fairly new floor in it also.
-
where is boat located, please and size what engine and pump package came out of it , thanks

That hull is a splash of an old Hornet. Marty Hatchel owned hornet, and before that was a rigger at Tahiti, back when my dad was a rigger. I worked with Marty for a short time in the early 90s at Howard. He passed away shorty after that. (from what I heard)
The dash in that boat is cool, the built in gauge bezels were way before their time and years before bezels became the hot thing. He told me a funny story about when he was tooling that deck up and looking for something different, the bezel idea came to him. He used old beer cans for the small ones. lol I don't remember what was used for the tach mount.
Good looking boat.

Listen up kids....school is in session! old rigger has joined.
Welcome to the site old rigger!
i skimmed through those pictures and never even noticed the built in bezels....those are pretty trick and very clean.

I was also reading some of the other posts, cool site. I noticed where hotrod56 said Tahiti's weren't built with full stringers...as a gerneral rule that's true, but Tahiti was also a custom shop so to speak. If the customer wanted it, they could get it if they wanted to pay. I'm talking about old , Schuster owned Tahiti, not the later Tahiti who built the boat that was posted by someone that had full stringers. Lets not forget, it was Tahiti that started the v-bottom jet boat thing, there were other stabs at jet boats to be sure, but none in a v bottom and none cought on like little little Tahiti. And people raced the snot out of them too, we even had one competing in offshore racing, a 23 Toad, but it was a Tahiti jet, race by Jake Gilbreth of Gil marine fame.
All but a few of the very first 19s above had full length stringers. I can remember 3 models that were like that at Hawaiian, all other had the stubbys. ;)

first welcome oldrigger. and if he says it's like the hornet then it is......

I didn't say it's like a Hornet, I said it's a splash of a Hornet. And there's no reason it would be like your's, it's not like Marty made one model ya know.
And, he did offer the little 16 tahiti in his line up too. lol.
-
what i was refering to was the built in gage bezels. that i have in my hornet.
sorry for the misunderstanding. ralph
-
Oh, yeah that dash is a classic.
I thought that was lilricks boat? You buy it?
-
yup ;D i stuffed a ford in it and took it out to ming and raced for the verry first time earlier this month.

I saw one of those old 16's, pretty cool. The bottom front of the hull reminds me of the Rootin' Tootin' Raspbery's nose. ;D
You ARE the "oldrigger" that worked at/with Rogers Custom Boats aren't you? ;D Man I love these Rogers boats. Why aren't they still made/available?
-
So ..... Um...... Yeah..... The yellow and white hawaiian is still for sale!

The boat is currently being stored right in the middle of San Diego near the 8 and 15 freeways.
I still haven't seen a reply (Jim) of what more pics are wanted...

Transum, bottom, engine bay, under the bow and the floor.

I just contacted the owner of the boat and he is getting me more shots of the boat. If any one would like to check it out or has questions you can contact the current owner His name is Sebastian and his number is 619-665-6151. Thanks.

There is a deal that has been made to purchase the boat and a down payment received! If anything goes down and the boat ends up still being for sale I'll let you guys know. Thanks for the responses and the interest.

Yep , This site rocks ! My friend got a huge response to this boat.

-
He was worried he might be stepping on someone's toes by buying it so if he wants to reveal himself it's up to him.
