Just testing the water guys. The boat needs more work than I have the time/money for this year. It is in pretty much all-original condition w/ a stock peanut port 454 motor, and a freshly rebuilt Berk JC. It's bright orange gel with off-white gel and woodgrain inserts. It is a definite project, but is still a great candidate to be finished in time for the good majority of this summer. I really don't want to get rid of it, but there are a few other things that I need to spend money on :-\ You can hit me up with any questions or you can ask Skip (LuckyStiff) here on the boards - he's seen it up close. Make me an offer. More pics to come very soon.

Don't be scared Ralph, it's just an engine. You need me to come hold your hand and show you how to work on a Chevy? ;)
-

The only thing that scared me is the way the motor is mounted. If i'm seeing it correctly, its a 4 pt front plate with a 3 pt rear bellhousing. Usually with a 3 pt. the front mounting pt. utilizes the std motor mount on the block. That carries more of the weight of the motor and less stess on the pump.

The "BIG" hammer and some sillycone and you should be able to fix most anything right?
-
Ron-
Would you believe me if I told you that's how it was rigged from Nordic?

Nope ;)

haha, well, from what I saw when we had the boat here for a spell was that there were no extra holes in the stringers, no sign that there was any other mounting system in place, I found it odd as well but hey, I'm just a dumb plumber from Bakerspit.
-
Personnally, I would get a rear plate for it.
But I'm just a dumb cabinetmaker from Esco.

I agree, I tried to get Reid to get one when we were putting it back together, but he was loooooooooow on funds so we just went with what he had. Wanna start a dumb contracting company?
-
Anyone starting a contracting co. now, would be dumb.

Very stout, but still alot of weight on the intake.

I'm with Brad on this. Let's make it run, bring the sumbitch to Big River. Give momma a weekend in the new boat. You're good to go.

Ralph, the only reason you're not happy with me is because you know its not right and needs to be set up correctly. With that said, put it together, get it in the water, go have fun. Apparently its been that way for a long time. I just wouldn't be launching off any barge wakes, which I tend to do with my Advantage all the time. Looks like a winter fix. Just keep checking the intake for signs of stress.
-

Here's how it happens Gord........"Hello?, yeah, you listed a {blankety Blank part} for sale on [Craigs List/Ebay] ? what's the condition, can you send me more pics?"....Lo and behold the pics come, along with pics of the rest of the boat and tons of other crap that might come in handy..Another call "Hello, yeah, me again, how much for the {other blankety blank parts} and shipping? You got a WHAT for sale also? Really?"....simple math kicks in......end up buying the whole goddam boat, maybe a patio set and/or a couch, and your front yard looks like the USN Mothball Fleet in Norfolk, Virginia, and you feel an obligation to at least try and put them all back together...........Welcome to my world.......... :banghead:
