Buddy bought this boat and is using the motor in his 18 CP.... so he wants to sell this boat. The owner reported 375 pounds with the intake in and I believe it... light weight full tunnel with stainless IMCO tanks, long steering neck, new steering cable, And a custom $300 Moon steering wheel. Has a berk intake with loader (no pump) and polished tunnel tabs with fixed turnbuckles...T deck windshield perfect shape with a custom fit canvas cover.. great starting point for a potentially fast river race deal...
Trailer with chrome 9 inch fenders and old school rims and new tires in great shape. Both registered and titled...
Will split up if needed....
2200 OBO for a great project hot rod....

same thing is posted on performance boats with no mention of any of that as well

Didn't notice the bulk head but took a closer look and that is right, Bulkhead is broken loose....
I wouldn't say the paint is ruined..... definitely had some fuel spillage that is gonna need to be addressed if you wanted to keep this color scheme... I would think a solid color would be nicer but that's just me.... it is pretty thin.... I think that was mentioned but just to be clear.... this is NOT a Memorial Day weekend boat for the sand bar..... that being said, I've seen thinner...
Maybe I should have been more clear, My bad... this is a project boat.... has potential, but is a project....
If anybody needs more detail, feel free to PM me and I will fill you in....

Just re read my post, 77 Liberty thanks for keeping me honest... mentioned in the PB add but forgot the paint issue here.... got in a hurry gettin yelled at to get the turkey in the oven..... :banghead:
Here's some better pics so you can see what it's looking like paint wise... race fuel and painted boats can be a bitch.... if anybody wants just the hull with intake, steering, and cover I can seperate... the bulkhead needs some love.... I just tapped the side and it's light, but not drag race potato chip light...

Talk to me Goose.
How are the stringers and what would be the final bottom right hand corner?
I have a Kinsler injected 410 Donovan Sprint Car motor that would look and work sik as hell in this deal.
Should have my finances fixed by December 15.

Not sure what a 9500 rpm 850 horse methanol burning motor would do in that thing, but it sure would look and sound evil.
Had the motor for several years now, just sitting in an airplane hangar waiting for something awesome to go into.

Circle track, it don't even start to pull until 6k.
It was retired because it pitched two rods and knocked both Windows out of it. Welded it back together and got all new parts. Ready to put together.
It was left at my dad's shop for two years with an unpaid bill. Damn near stole it.

It's considered a "Rev motor" for a short track. Probably cost $20-$25k to build originally.

It would have to be re-cammed for obvious reasons.
I just know what these engines develop.
I feel confident I could get near 800hp at or close to 7,500-8,000rpm.
And I know what your saying.
The last small block we did ran right to 6k and hit a wall. Lol

I know some of the NJBA guys like Adams run a gear reduction to the pump in PGJ.. I think they were in the 8 or 8500 range but spinning the pump 7k ish...
That would sound unbelievable.......

Only thing about a gear reduction is it eats up some power... so you got to be making enough torque up that high to make it worth the loss.

Always wondered if the gains were worth the extra drag.....
-
I've seen a Volvo overdrive used. (Same as gear vendor) as long as the hull design can take the length hit. A tunnel should be no problem.

Just out of curiosity what is a safe limit for spinning a pump? I'm not a jet guy obviously, I'd spin my prop 9500 if I could I just can't afford it!!! Lmfao

Lot depends on the build of the pump and where it looses efficiency... a double throw me down super drag nasty pump will operate in the 7800-8200 area... but that is top shelf stuff with all the tricks thrown at it. Obviously you can take a mediocre pump and turn piles of rpm as well... but the mph and et will definitely show that it is not working efficiently... as well as any data collection you may have... numbers just won't add up. Kinda like spinning the shit out of a tiny, jank prop... yeah it's spinning 9500... but the boat running 53mph is a good inducation that it may not be performing at optimal level.

Gotcha!! I'm glad ron hill builds my props then!! I'll never own anything that goes 9500, it would be cool but not in the cards for me! 😅 I'd have to stop hitting shit first.. Lmfao

So again curiosity, I watch a lot of the short coarse sprint boats, with nasty small blocks in them,, with the cages over them, they are jets and a lot of them sound like they rpm like a mother#cker! Is that a gear reduction kinda deal to the pump to make them work?

The Sprint Jets typically use a model 149 two stage pump.
Scott Pumps ate a product of New Zealand, pretty awesome stuff.
Look up Scott 149 two stage 8.75".
