Title: 1996 20' Carrera Eclipse
Post by: BUSBY on December 29, 2007, 04:11:42 PM
for sale, 1996 Carrera Eclipse, 20' Jet w/ Competitive tandem axle trailer. It is in mid-restore right now and I don't have the desire to finish. These boats are in the $17,000 to $22,000 range finished.

I have a refurbished (better than new) intake machined for a ride plate and shoe for it & a Berkeley JG jet w/ fresh white powder coat/place divertor (manual)/aluminum A impellor ... the jet is just back from the powder coating shop and apart for inspection.

I have just paid to have it color sanded and buffed out as well as filling of all of the old gauge and radio holes.

I have custom Beard Seats (suspension seats) made for this hull, 2 front buckets and one rear bench.

I started this project as a keeper ... I thought I wanted a high performance cruiser that the wife and kids would like and that was big enough to take out on a busy Parker or Havasu weekend. I have finally realized that neither the wife or kids want to go boating ... so ... I guess I don't need the big dog boat to make the wife comfortable.

I am taking a loss ... but everything isn't there ... I'm not going to lie, it's stripped down and needs someone who wants to build their own boat to their own specs ...

I would take $5500 for hull, trailer, seats, intake and pump (complete) ... just and your motor, gauges, carpet, steering & cables and make yourself either a nice Hi-Perf cruiser or sell it and make a profit.

I'll head out to the fiberglass shop and take some pics and post them up in the next couple of days.

remember that I just paid to have it polished out & for the fiberglass in the bilge area to be cleaned up. Also, I had them make sure that there was no stringer issues, like I said I was planning on keeping it for myself.

I have no pictures of the pump, but picture a brand new white Berkeley pump w/ manual divertor ... that's what it looks like, the pump, divertor and manual control are fresh back from the powder coater.

I might split the stuff up, I know the pump complete/divertor could bring $1700 to $1900, intake $450-$475, Hull & trailer $4000, seats $1500 - $1900

I think these are fair prices, not top dollar, but not bottom because they are in near perfect condition.

okay ... I'm thinking of including a BBC in the deal for an extra $500, making it $6000 for everyhing.

Someone would be getting a great deal, put some labor into it and have a nice cruiser and/or make a profit by selling.

I could also finish the boat if someone wanted to pay for the extra parts and stuff.

Make me an offer ... it's all negotiable.

I got busy with work ... I need to drive out to the shop in Perris and pick the boat up ... sorry. I should do that today or tomorrow.

Send me your number and I'll hook up with you ... I'll make the deal right by you if you're really interested ... it's a nice piece.

As I said ... I was going to keep it ... but the wife isn't interested & 2 boats really dosen't work for her. So I have to get rid of one ... this is the one.

Anyone need a dirtbike in your family? and/or a lot of computer work. I'm an IT guy at a large company. Two of us run a 400 workstation and 12 server network.

hmmm ... dirt bike ... what are you thinking?

as far as computer work, my father worked for IBM for 40 years ... I was raised on code cards and mainframe tapes ... (old school 1970's computer crap) ... so networking and cpu's are takencare of.

while a dirt bike sounds like fun ... I need cash more than another toy ... I need to work on the Gullwing and I just can't figure out how I could modify the bike to make the boat go faster  ;D

Thanks anyways

Engine in good shape? How much just for the engine minus the parts mentioned?
Title: Re: 1996 20' Carrera Eclipse
Post by: BUSBY on January 16, 2008, 09:05:48 AM
I would take $1700 for the motor alone (less the parts mentioned).

It's in good shape, std bore/std crank/std rods ... it was a truck motor that I took apart and put back together w/ a new cam and marine intake. 650cfm Holley carb, Crane Cam, New HEI distributor.

It's not a Hi Perf deal ... just something I put together to get the Gullwing out on the water for the Tom Papp memorial outing. Turn Key though and will probably run forever. Usually the ones you don't want to keep last forever and the ones you really want always have issues.

In reality, I shouldn't sell this as it will probably keep me on the water this summer.
