Ok guys. I just picked up a new project that I am trying to get ready this season, so I can finally meet some of you guys and share some beers! It has a 454 and I am in need of a few parts to complete it. I need a front motor mount, starter, alternator, ignition system and a marine carb. I have an edelbrock 1406 electric choke street carb that I will trade as I have no use for it. I am going to sell my hondo so I can put that towards the challenger ( also I have no room for two boats! ) if anyone is interested in doing some trading I can part out the hondo and we can get some dealing going on! Any help is appreciated here guys!!!

im def interested... do you have a pic?
i have a BRAND NEW in box autozone starter if you need it. I ended up going with a mini starter on mine to clear my fuel pump. By the time I realized it was sitting in my storage unit it was like 6 months later and autozone wont take it back...
-
I could absolutely use the starter! And thanks for the offer on the rail kit. I think I will pass on it though.
-
Lets see some pics of the new boat
-
pics will be up in a few hours ;D. I am off today O0 so I am going to be doing as much to it as I can. I will be sending a PM about the starter right now too!
-
yeah i dunno how to get it to victorville... heh. starters arent exactly lightweight. im in long beach and work in long beach...
-
I am down in LB a couple times a month. I'm sure we could figure out a time to meet up down there. Now for some pics!!!
-
you need valve covers? I have a set of chrome moroso's too.
-
I have some covers on now. They seem to be stock no breathers. What do you want for the moroso covers?
-
Nice you got that in oakhills I was thinking of going to look at it gues not now :)
-
ya the guy kinda screwed me though. The carb he had for it is a street carb not marine and it's missing more parts then he originally said. I got it for a bit less then the list but I still would have preferred those parts. What are you running Bryan?
-
Lookin good i was looking at that boat, then can across the 79 Challenger and bought that instead. Cant wait to see it when its done.
-
I have a 76 hawi. with a 460 im restoring I have a thread going

I am off tomorrow and tuesday 8) let's figure something out if possible
-
so what did you get done today
-
I moved the boat today and moved the seadoo trailer to my sisters house to get some more room. Then I just sanded a bunch of stuff down to clean it up. Got one whole header almost completely sanded, fwd/rvs handle sanded. I'm going to pick up a cherry picker tomorrow from harbor freight so I can pull my motor. My new guages and fuel sending unit should arrive tomorrow.
-
if you want some help pulling the motor let me know we live close
-
You get anything done
-
Put some gauges in and had to flip the steering as the previous owner had it in backwards
-
where did you get the gauges looks good
-
Thanks, ordered them from rexmarine. Still waiting on the other two. Gotta get my tanks finish welded soon.
-
After spending about an hour talking with Jim at performance jet I got my plans for my pump all laid out. Now just need to get the money together and start ordering some parts
-
So whats the plan
-
17-4 shaft cut for an inducer. Dominator split bowl. stainless impellar and a place divertor plus all the little acc needed to put it together. First step is the shaft and place diverted as everything can come when I swap the bigger hp motor back in
-
Are you going to be ready this season
-
Ya I should be ready in a couple weeks. I'd love some help fabin' up a rail kit if you're willing.
-
I will help
-
I appreciate it man thanks
-
Let me no when to come look at it and see what we can do
-
Will do. Probably be working on the boat a little bit on saturday.
-
Little bit of paint done today
-
whats going on with the boat
-
Painted a couple more parts today. Waiting to get paid on friday to order some more stuff
-
Engine from my other boat that is going into the challenger while the original get built
-
keep going its almost summer
-
what have u got done
-
Getting paid tomorrow so i am going to order the carpet and stuff needed to put that in. I need to call rexmarine and see where my other damn guages are too! I am also thinking about capping it instead of putting a rubrail back on.
-
lot of work to cap and one good bump into the dock >:D
-
Ya, that's why I'm just thinking about it lol.
-
my buddies capping his boat now...think twice!! :screwy: sure sounds like an aweful lot of pump to me..how much motor?? could be wasting your time..if your going gnarly with an engine than for sure..but for an average engine package it sounds like a sales pitch to me. a stock pump will do alot more than you think 8)
got alot of work ahead of you bud..good luck!
-
I'm going to pass on the capping, easier with a rail anyways lol O0. It's a lot of pump because it is going to be pushed by a lot of motor. 600hp is the bottom end of what will be going into it. If I end up getting this other job it could be closer to 750hp+.
-
honestly a rail on a boat with a squared off side like yours and mine look better with a rail...its stupid expensive for a new rail but it is what it is. capping these things is alot of work unless you really know what your doing with fiberglass and have an abundance of time on your hands.
having a pump thats overkill isnt a bad thing at all..do it right the first time and you wont have to do it again for a long time..peice of mind on the lake is priceless fer sher
-
whats going on with the float
-
Not much new, pay check was half of the usual as hours are being cut. Hopefully rex marine will have some good news for me about the rest of my guages
-
i wouldnt hold your breath..Rex is a joke! i have had ZERO luck getting anything from Rex. everything i have ever ordered they have not had or told me to wait 6 months..idk what kind of buisness they are running over there but they lost my buisness for sure. i tried more than my fair share..they just dont have the product they offer..they have great customer support but customer support doesnt get my boat on the water ::)

rexmar has been fine for me. although i drove to their location in san dimas to pickup my teleflex cables. but yeah if they dont have it in stock i usually dont purchase from any location. who knows when they'll actually get it in.
-
Yeah not thrilled at all. Hey Derek I am going to be in long beach on thursday cleaning up my dads ocean boat. Will you be free so I can pick up the starter from you?

-
Finally got the motor pulled. It's on the stand and going to be disconnecting my other mother tomorrow to swap in.
-
Motor* damn phone.
-
i like that transom around the pump, thats cool. is that how all challengers are? it doesnt have that big pump cover or the aluminum plates to keep the water out, its like built into the transom.
-
I believe it's because I have a factory JE pump and they are set back from the mfg. It was made like that. Thanks, I like it too. Looks clean.
-
Block dissasembled and ready to go to the machine shop.

Going to get some carpet in the next few days. Was trying to decide what weight. Heard 40oz is nice and cushy but holds a lot of water. Any input?
