The gel is original. Some dude sprayed over it with a clear coat....the gel is great it is just the clear that has wore off in places. Looks amazing wet. Dry u see the patches the clear is lifted. The pump is a split bowl just picked up from Peterson. Intake was reset with a machined shoe and ride plate by him. Droop and a new aluminum A impeller. Had a 600ci chevy in it. So all motor plates and rail kit is set up for chevy. It is a 79 so it had the long pod. Colors are great!! Just have been spending a lot of money on a different bubble blower.

She is a great boat. I tore her apart as the big motor blew up and thought I would restore her completely. Did the bottom pump intake gages then was gonna cap her and put her back. But then I picked up a 18 CP and have been pouring money into it. Don't need both and I dint want her to sit and rot. Here is a pic of the CP

tony, did that boat (cp) belong to Jim Ryan in Needles? I remember it from 20 years ago....
Small world when it comes to gullwings.... Thing hauled ass...

Yes sir. He had it a long time. It ran hard just sat a long time. Lines were all clogged and just others from sitting so long. I was reLly excited to pick it up. Ran it all summer and it ran well. I had built a 514 13 to 1 for the SWTD that I just swapped into the GW. So I am really excited to see how it runs. I have really enjoyed going through it little by little and putting line everything. I am hoping the sale/trade of the SWTD will get the inside all new floors maybe with some balsa. I want to clean it up and make it a looker. He had it all bare bones to haul ass. I think it will handle a little more weight with the bigger motor. All in all I think it is a great boat. It was set up well. I was kinda afraid of it as i never ran a winger. Always V or the tunnel. But it running great and really smooth. So I am a believer in the winger!

Cool! jim is a really cool guy..... I remember when it was freshly redone in 94 or 95.. He pulled up with his wife on the beach in Willow Valley and my idiot buddy tried to throw him a beer. He over threw it and bounced it right off the deck of his brand new gelled boat. My buddy wanted to hide under a rock....lol. No damage and Jim just shrugged his shoulders.... Had a 13 to one 468 or so at the time as I recall....
Sorry for the jack, Good luck with the SWTD! Somebody will snag it....
-
Wow!!! That is a great memory! That is what he said was in it. The 468 ran well this summer I think it was just over do for a rebuild. It had quite a bit of water in it. You can tell jim put a lot into it,, but it sat a really long time. And I think with some newer technology it should run real hard! BTW he has a loader I haven't seen before, it doesn't have much open area. Likeda like a pc of angle iron down the middle. I will post a pic I need some help with it. I think the motor I put in it won't get enough water.

I suspect it's sold as I PM'ed him and brought the cash to the river to buy it but he hasn't responded. If it's not sold, he lost one buyer with cash in hand.......

Gotcha, yeah seemed like a good deal. I should probably be looking for a 21 Daytona anyway lol
