I know that it has the Cole coast guard badge on it and I'm sure the title says Cole, but that isn't a Cole.

It's the buyers fault if he bought it thinking it was a Cole. He should have done his homework.
Having said that, I wouldn't sell it as something it wasn't if I knew about it. At the very least disclose my suspicions, even if they were only after parts.

How would I know if it was not a cole? You guys say it's not. So how do you know? I bought it and it said cole so as far as I know it was a cole. I was told that's what it was by many people. I don't want to sell fake stuff. So lmk how I would be able to tell next time. I'm new to boats so I really don't know how to tell

First three letters of HIN should be a dead give away.
Paperwork, especially with boats, is hit and miss sometimes.
It doesn't look like your common Cole.
Not to say it can't be some obscure early model.
Unless I know the guy or he has a reputation for being honest, I consider all boat guys sum bags.
Some of the shadiest guy around.
