of course the motor and pump are not included ...
-
only the motor and pump are not included?
-
Brian that looks like an older Sprint, what year is it ?
That would make a great boat for someone to come out and race with.
-
Hey Jim! SHHHHH Don't let the word out, I've already got my eye on it!
-
It's a '73 Eliminator ... fresh paint from Anaheim Hills Auto Body & pump set back with low profile intake from Tom Papp ...
The trailer is back to road trailer width, tounge has been returned to normal (swing away),but the chrome fenders need to be mounted. I rewired the trailer as well as sand blast and paint. It's a nice trailer ... oh yeah, new bunks and carpet.
New tripple dip chrome on the cav plates.
rail kit for BBC and foot pedals are there, not sure if the single seat is still around, I think it has a couple of buckets and a bench ...
My Brother-in-law took it on as a project from me & doesn't think he'll ever do anything with it ... so here we are.
It was a fast boat when I had it ... ran over 120 mph ... it wasn't comfortable, but it did it :o
Let me know if you're interested ... I need to call him and make sure he hasn't changed his mind again saying he wants to keep it.

nice hull :o
-
Can you find out what his price is now-a-days?
-
Just spoke to him yesterday ... he'll take $1800 just like the asking price
I need to get new pictures ... since hot boat went down, now all we see is red x's ...
-
Okay, since circle boat racing has officially started up again, I figure someone might have the bug!
$1800 and I was wrong, BBC Rail kit isn't in it anymore.
Shoot, the paint alone cost me over $2500, new intake machined for a shoe & ride plate, set back already.
Trailer redone w/ new wiring and bunks ... this is a smoking deal ... you have to mount the chrome fenders though.

jim brock told skip otherwise. who knows ???
-
Good to know ! Maybe I'll have to try it (slowly). I just dont want to be doing quick tiny little circles like a certian Yellow boat we all know ::)
-
jim brock told skip otherwise. who knows ???
Not about THAT particular boat, just that hull in general, no need to get anyone upset with Jim (you know how sensitve some guys are)
-
Thanks for the kind words Jeff ... helping other boaters out is what it's all about right?
And that boat was designed to turn ... I was told that the original Sprints were made for circle racing by Tom Papp ...
I know it will turn on a dime ... it was very responsive, but demands respect ... will pick a line and make sure you're awake if you're not paying attention (at speed, 70+)
Good luck with her and have fun, glad you made it home safely ... sorry your truck is jealous ::)
no take that bitch circle racing, I'll even come crew for you ;D
-
I believe Jim was referring to that hull for a drag boat.

I believe Jim was referring to that hull for a drag boat.
let me clear up what i was saying....
jim told me it wasnt an ideally good boat for drag racing.....i think brian can attest to that as well....especially with HP that was in it.
but luckie stiff told me later that jim said it was a good boat for doing circles...thus why he showed some interest in it.
personally, i think it would do great as a circle boat....i say put a motor and pump in it and go try it out yourself....first hand experience is better then listening to all of us keyboard jockies ;)

Good info . I'll keep it in mind and see what happens when its back on the water ;D . This is project #1 now !! I have about 90% of the parts to get it done but will need some new stuff . Hurry up tax refund ;D

Brad (and Jim I guess) are correct that this isn't the best boat for drag boat racing. At 115+ it's a hand full ... and I told Jeff that when he picked it up.
All v-bottoms will become flighty once they're aired out. But because of a v ... no matter how deep ... it will turn good, unlike a tunnel which is better for drags ...
And remember, there are 2 Eliminator Sprints ... an early and a late. The early boats were more rounded and the late more square ... earlier more designed from the racing happening then and the late more for ski boats.
This is what I was told from Tom Papp who was working on them at the races back in the day before he died. He was trying to tell me this because I was trying to drag race it & it was becoming unsafe with the HP I was building ... he said it was designed for circle racing or would be a great lake/river boat... plain and simple.
Either way, Jeff, have fun ;D
