ISO 19' Placecraft or gullwing or daytona

Looking for a 19' project boat, really like to get a picklefork hull but if I found the right gullwing that would be okay too. No engine, 4-seater, w/tandem trailer, and the hull needs to be full stringer.

River man, post or pm your budget, I know of a few...

Be very careful with the "project" hulls hat need stringers floors gel, etc etc.. Many will tell you how quick it adds up and you could even get close to a new hull..

I know of a brand new hull just out of the mold at Genesis that a guy ordered and has now decided he wants a tunnel.... Too much power...

I think it's around 575-600 pounds skinny stringer etc etc.. Beautiful boat, he paid 10k for it and wants to move it for I believe $8500 obo...

Hell of a deal, but not sure if you want a project that big....

Correct..... Genesis has always been around, never left.... They do the laminations for many companies... Did almost all of mine, most of the CP's over the last 7-8 years, American Offshore, Ultra, Beismeyer, Mako flats, etc etc..... Still have all of their molds as well as a 19 gullwing based on the original retooled Rouse plug... When the boat market tanked they moved on to other fiberglass parts like race truck bodies and big fiberglass septic and bio diesel tanks, but they have always done boats as well...

They do killer work and great gel repair....

Are we talking about Joel Casillas at Fiber Composites?

I think Todd Kelly owns a few of the old Genesis molds now and has Joel laying them up. Todd is rigging them under the Tahiti Offshore name.

Tahiti is advertising the gullwing as their own.

Ur rite on! Joel is laying up the gullwings at his shop in hemet,I just talked to him about them when I picked up my bahner. They do amazing work there, Joel and his crew pulled out all their tricks to get the bow and top of my boat back to new

Bahner80, saw your boat out there, very nice!!!!!

That's classic, the Gullwing shown in the picture is the first Rouse hull I built and it's sitting in my driveway... Lol

Here is a pic of the new hull, They rolled it outside in the sun for the first time today..... Holly shit, it is freakin beautiful!!!!!!

Sorry for the thread jack, sounds like you may want a little more complete, but trust me when I tell you projects usually end up being complete rebuilds....

Thanks river dad, she's my baby and family boat for the time being.until the boys grow up and I can afford a Gullwing or tunnel.the bahner started off just being a buff and polish, but now that she's so pretty I gotta do a complete re build on everything can't wait

Pinstriping? That's all in the mold gel that joel and his crew did.. The guy that bought it from Joel came up with the graphic after looking at a few of the past Gullwing projects. Combined a few and came up with that...

It really pops in the sun, the fade in the gel is beyond... Joel knows his stuff on gel...sounds like it may be sold already, Less than 24 hrs without being advertised.. Lol

Wow! Wish I would of known that before I started redoing my 500lb tx19! I would love to have that exact hull, hell I think that's the one or one like it that made me want one. I'd deal with the extra 100lbs for a new hull with killer gel lol. I've had my tx capped, Bennet bottom, and now cut for popoff and rail kit and transom plates done at GS marine. But by the time I paint or gel it I would have been money ahead. That's crazy though, I almost bought a Genesis new back in 2005 or so, I wanted the 22 or 23 I believe with a 496 I/O

That's my exact point.... Sometimes a project ends up costing at or near a new hull price to be done correctly...

GS does great work, so I'm sure you will end up in good shape.... If weight is an issue, keep the gel simple and stay away from flake. I have heard heard of boats coming out 25 to 30 pounds heavy because of gel. It's thick and weighs a little...

To the OP, I will keep an eye out for Ya for a good starting point....

Yeah exactly. Don't get me wrong I'm sure I will love my boat and it is capped and has bottom work, but it's not cheap to buy an old hull and Rehab it. That and the hours I have in it myself that I really don't have time to be investing convinced me this is the last time I go this route.

I'm actually going to do automotive base colors with a presstec polyester clear, supposed to be almost just like full gel as far as surface and durability but without the buildup from the colors. At least that's what I'm leaning towards so far
