I emailed the guy and he said this:

Quote
stringers can use a little glass there not to bad the wood for the int isnt to good.
the pump is in good shape and so is the hull and trailer, the hull has some small stress cracks.its in gardena.yea its been for sale for a while didn't get any interest till i dropped the price to 500 .i have been sending emails all morning

i got a cool project idea and the charger would be perfect.....but i need to save my pennies for a new motor.

I'm out of money too, but that didnt stop me from buying my 4th boat today. Havent closed the deal but there was an offer and it was accepted. Hopefully have a friend pick it up tomarrow, or I'll get it this weekend. Just told my wife, she didnt seem upset but she has an hour and a half before she gets home, things could change as she stews about it.

I have a good friend that bought the glastron cvx20 and did a full restro and it came out BITCHIN. He spent about a year on just the bottom. Picked it up for $800 at the river. I will have to get some pix.   His has a small block with a merc and with all that hull work on the bottom he got 74mph.    Makes you wonder about what is more important, motor or hull. :sly:

Hey GT
The chevelle belongs to Andrew (#2 son). He found it (and I paid for it) 7-8 years ago--literally out behind the barn in a rural area near Visalia. He still has dreams of restoring it some day. His first "car" was a 1965 el camino that he ran around in during high school--it was really ugly, but got it running pretty good. He sold it when he left home for school knowing that the chevelle was still here waiting. We have the "to sell or not to sell" conversation a couple of times a year, but as of right now, I think he's keeping it (in my side yard).

Thanks for posting Mark.

My first car was the '64 Chevell I mentioned, it came home in milk crates, boxes, pick up trucks and a flatbed trailer, a true basket case, there is not one bolt on that car that I am not familiar with, the dumbest thing I ever did was to sell that car.....If he decides to sell it, could you let me know?

I also know how to get virtually any part on that car, so if he decides to build it, give me a yell..Thanks again.

GT
In 1963, my grandmother bought one of the first chevelles--a white coupe/283/powerglide--and drove it less than 50,000 miles over about 25 years. In the 70s, I started telling her that whenever she wanted to sell it, I'd take it, and I reminded her regularly. Anyway, when she gave up driving, she ended up giving it to her son (my uncle) who took it up to Tahoe and wore it out.

I'm sure Andrew will eventually do the restore--thanks GT for the offer, and the contact, crewchief. He's kind of a "hands on" guy--maybe he'll give it to me when he's finished for being such a great dad.

And boost, man you got this boat disease bad!! Yeah, the blue sanger mini cruiser is a nice boat. We looked for several years to find it--it was always his "dream" boat--so I don't think he'll ever sell it. In fact this spring he is building a bigger motor to push it as fast as all your 18 footers. I think i will be a real sleeper--wanna race?

I honestly can't believe it is still that low, if it has say a $4000 reserve (plausible) you could throw $1000 at it and have a damn nice little Hondo, I figured it would be at $7000 by now... :screwy:

He is asking $2000 for the Sanger Flat.  Sounds like it's complete, without engine.

Thought I would throw it up here, could be cool as hell....

FWIW, I could sell the motor and jack plate for the price of the boat  :sly:

i wouldnt imagine that it would hurt, only thing is that the bow will always be in the water which in some cases can help with choppy water and the ride.
Humm, I didn't even think of that. I wonder how much it would be to install one in my boat.

Because of its size you'll spend more on a trailer than the boat is worth currently.

If you're serious about this one spend some time looking at the floor and stringers before you spend any money.  If you can find damage or rot maybe you can talk them into just letting you take it away without having to pay you to dispose of it  ;)

Seller states in the ad "just needs a little TLC". He could be honest and say the pump and shoe were cut out with a sawzall.

maybe u can get him/her to keep the seats in it so they could get put new wood in em.

Looked at this one today.  Wood is rotten on the bases but vinyl still good.  few scratches in gel. chip in gel on nose.  Jet would need rebuild, hard to spin and made grinding noise.  If the guy cleaned it up more it would probably sell faster.  Bilge had motor plates and exhaust sitting in water.  Trailer would need new tires.

He has ridden in it and he says "it's too light"...LMAO, If you put more than 400HP in it it's a challenge to drive without a droop, she wants to air out pretty good. The boat is a little ass light at speed.

He is one of those 60MPH guys. I didn't have the heart to tell him he was going over 80...  :sly:

Really don't care if it sells or not. If it doesn't thats fine with me ill keep working on it and enjoy it with the family and if it does sell ill fix my truck and hand the rest to my wife and start working on my chevelle. I have to many projects and this is the one I'm least attached to but work on the most. but i only plan on leaving the add up for a week or so, dont want to deal with all the craigslist crap for to long. Already had a few idiots call. One guy offer me a trade for a old Honda 250r that doesnt run and mongoose mountain bike. but there is a guy coming today at  4 to look at it an possibly take it out for a spin.
