Fiberglass tanks are out, motor is out, and bilge is cleaned up. The tanks are at Johnny's getting new filler necks.

I haven't worked on the boat recently because I've been on tour since July, but I'm home for a couple months so game on! I picked these headers up today. Thanks again Gavin! They'll look and sound a hell of a lot better than logs so I'm stoked.

I'm on the hunt for covers for the exhaust holes if anyone has any laying around.

Before installing the block off plates, what's the proper way to seal the old exhaust holes and bolt holes? Should the exhaust holes be sanded and fiberglassed? Should the bolt holes be drilled and doweled like a stringer hole would be filled? In case the block off plates leak I don't want to create an issue for my self or the next owner by ruining the transom wood.

I was wondering what was up with this.

Would you cut some plywood and glass it in to fill the exhaust hole itself, like gauge holes on a dash?

I think it would be OK even if you just resined the inside of the holes themselves.

I was hoping to be farther along by the end of today, but it was raining and too cold to do fiberglass work. Everything is prepped for the tanks and I plugged a few holes in the stringers. I added gauge sending units to the tanks.

The bilge is finished and ready for the motor to go back in. I filled the speedo and exhaust bolt holes. The exhaust holes I left open for now and I'm going to run cover plates. The carb is in pieces and about to go in chem-dip.

I went through some of the paperwork again. No exact build sheet, just receipts. Here are the few that have the most info about the motor. It looks like the previous owner built the motor according to the Mondello guide.

Does anyone know what size the reverse cable packer washers are or what they're called in a non-jet boat application? It's a non locking split washer. I want to find them at a hardware store if possible because they are a $.02 part. I have the reverse cable packer nut and grommet, but not the washers.
