Title: '76 Sleekcraft
Post by: HDriderTH on June 03, 2010, 02:16:47 PM
So I'm sitten here and this kid (DS) calls me and says there is a boat in my hood for sale. I say lets go look at it. So we go a few blocks over and there is this '23 foot sleek sittin in the driveway, he goes up and rings the bell and this lady comes out. He says we heard this boat is for sale and she starts jumping up and down saying take it take it! We're like (WTF) for free or what? She says what'll you give me for it? Well you guessed it, $50. She says , "is that the best you can do?" so I say 75, your turn give me a number. So she goes let me call the ole man, cant get ahold of him.........oh what the hell, I'll take it. She wants to have a big party on the 12th and wants it out of the drive. Flipped the bitch the 75 an pulled it over here. So far we know it's a '76, 454 w/ a jakuzi? FWD/REV works, stearing works, big ass swim step, stabbin cabbin, found 2 grand in receipts on the motor, holley pump, eddy carb, Performer mani, SW gauges. We'll get pics up as soon as we can bump some of the ugly off it. Wood is shot, my buddy said the floor apperars to be glass, we'll see...Late T

Its an "Executive". Got the interior out, the seats in the cabin are good some of the wood has been replaced out in the seating area. Got a blue bimini. I buffed all the blue on the boat, will buff the white tomorrow. Pulled a valve cover Clean clean. Dual batteries with an isolator. Found the key in the boat. Built in ice chest in the forward birth, drains into the bilge.

YOU SUCK!  ;D

Great find Terry! Really, all kidding aside. I got a Berk JC and Intake if you wanna convert it, but personally, I think that WJ will do just fine with it.

NOW, we gotta get our heads together here.......what about matching paint/gel on ours?......mess with the locals when they're cruising Mead..........

I got a blue bimini fer ya...........A$$hole.........lol!

Seriously, your beam width should be 8'. I think the one I got will work. Pretty much new, just gonna need the mounts and tie down hooks, they're staying on Moo.

The floors SHOULD be glassed wood, so sounds like you were right, someone put a LOT of work in on the thing.

Ok, I took  this thing out again today. I've run about thirty gallons of gas thru it and she seams to run fine. I've put on a starter, tires, battery, oil & fillters, belt, cap n rotor and plugs. I also ended up putting a new subfloor in it, Nordie has pics, and light grey carpet. Brotha Ray kicked down a Place Diverter for it and Jay is gonna help me redo the wood over the engine with a sundeck. I'll get on the ole lady about the pics and vids and try to figure out what I got into it now, somewhere around a G

I'll send ya some pics and measurements from the engine hatch/sundeck from the Shrimpin' Boat. Should fit your ship as well. It's kinda cool and VERY light, but Fiberglass with small wood supports. I'll hafta do what you're gonna do as far as the front engine compartment/rear seat back area and make it up as I go along...... :screwy:

Glad the PD worked out for ya!   Gonna need that nozzle from yours someday. Maybe next summer.

Ray

PS......I don't wanna know the total you have into it so far. I'd have to kill myself, as I KNOW you haven't even broken 4 figures yet.......  :'(
