Title: 16' Allusion Tunnel
Post by: jet boat performance on January 25, 2008, 10:42:05 AM
We have always been facinated with Small Jet boats ,after talking to Undone this week regarding some recent events in the Jet boat world . I've decided to post up this "project" from early 2001. We ,JBP had a close relationship for several years and Aggressor Jets & Dave gave us the opportunity to buy one  of a limited quantity of small tunnel hull boats He was producing at that time .
This was literally a Bare Hull, nothing but fiberglass! It came shipped to us on a pallet "atop" what later became Joshs 16' Beezer and trailer. I don't remember all the details but the boat design bottom was similar to a small daytona and the top I belive Dave used to call it a "Family deck". Several folks had and rigged these little boat I belive including maybe Tom Papp and Jim @ Cyclone Marine. It was a great fun project for us the boat ran 80 with the second motor. I originally rigged it with a ZZ4 350 crate motor then when Josh decided to go SB Ford I swapped out for his Dual carb "double throw down" 350 cu aluminum head motor from the Beezer More pics and info to follow  Tom

note : the Nor cal guy that bought this boat from me swapped the sbc fo a big Mopar wedge with a "blow thru" supercharger and reportedly runs over 100 at CFW (scarey  ???)

CFW is Camp Far West Lake...its north of sac town....it usually has a huge gathering of lake/river rods on new years and fathers day weekend.

In the same boat with you Josh... Feel the same way all the time, especially with all the arthritis, torn ligaments/tendons, compacted disks in my neck goes on and on. Can't wait to see more of that little sucker. Hopefully things work out and you'll be seeing another one on the water.

I like it! Tom if it's not too top secret what is that you painted the bottom of that boat with, or did it just clean up that good ? Wow either way! BTW is that crate a drop in, or did you have to "loosen" her up a bit?

So you really didn't do anything crazy with the pump or anything huh? From what I'm seeing the potential with that hull is incredible. Hopefully all works well... You've got me really excited now. As for the guys who want one of these. There just might be hope.

Guys this boats an absolute thrill ride ,re: CFW I have a pic of it now but I'm savin it ,Kreg re the ZZ they make 350 hp @5200 rpms (single carb N/A ) out of the box ,this was in a roadster my Bud at a GM DLR replaced it for a coolant leak /warranty I bought it at that time for 1500 bucks Alu heads roller etc Ran it "as is" (Until the Josh special) Plesh ,one could go in the Toy bx for the early morning run !! At some point I'll put up the Vid of the 7:00 am San Antonio run Tom
*Undone the jet was bone stock ,at that time i started with an Aggressor A and I did use Daves low pro intake
* re the paint I think it was just "Zolotone" trunk paint (google Zolotone)

Hello i am a new member to the website and i just discovered your thread about the 16 ft allusion. I am the current owner of this amazing boat and am very happy you posted some history on this boat. I purchased this boat from my friend the man who had the chysler wedge with a blow through system. This little boat currently has a bbc 454 with a procharger system on it. this boat does do over 100mph and accelerates so hard you can feel your eyes being pushed back in their sockets.I am looking forward to sharing some pics and info on the evolution of this beast.
