Thats 2 leave it as is. What do you guys think? Leave the stripe on the deck or sand it off and have the orange only around the bubble. I'll repost the pic since we just started a new page.

Looks good Ron, I would have to agree with everybody else so far and say leave it. Looks "year" appropriate(sp).

Unless your planning on putting a big SCJB logo on the deck, I'd leave the stripe the way it is.

Thanks for the art work Rod, that really helps. I was trying to clean it up and not dating it with the stripe, but it sure looks better with some color on the deck.

Guess I'm the only one who likes it without the target running down the center of the deck. The cleaner the better for me.  :D

I hated the 80's when we were doing 8, 9, 10 ,11 or more colors and pin lines on a boat. My rule of thumb, if you wouldn't paint your car like that, why in the hell would you do it to a boat?

Since the stripe is already on, I would leave it and go with the retro look. Don't forget to call Salvador!

You're welcome, it's easier to make a decision when you can see WTF you're talking about.  ;D  BTW, I never voiced my opinion because I couldn't, still can't, make up my mind which one I like best.  :-\

I went back and forth on this thing all weekend. The stripe is gone. My original concept was to make it a 70's era paint job. The stripe actually gave it a year. That narrowed the time line down to much.
Paint schemes identify a boats year, like old rigger said. I wanted this one to look like a classic jet boat with just 2 colors, simple and clean, no year attached to it.  Many of you who said to keep the stripe (80's funk) actually talked me out of it.  Thanks for your input. Ron
