Well, I'm probably not the best one to ask but when I talked to Tommy about whether I needed one, he asked me my plumbing setup -8 inlet lines and -10 outlet and he told me (for my application) that I probably didnt need one. 

Give him or Josh a buzz and see what they say.....

Rail kits are the aluminum angles and plates attached to the stringers.  We use to make ours with an old band saw drill press and some scotch brite pads. now days pieces like these are available as a kit.

youre still better off making your own rather then buying the kit from someone like lightning or HTP if you have the tools or resources to make your own.

Made a little progress today, about 1/3 of what I was expecting to get done.
Upholstery is just set in place until I finish the rigging. I also need to find some info on dyeing it, it was supposed to be off white so i need to tone it down a bit.
These old Allen trailers came with padded steps, so we went with tuck and roll on them as well as the fender pads (can you say ghetto). I think the upholsterer was burned out on all the sewing.
For the adjustable ride plate I bought a brand new rack steering cable from Eddie's on friday, and today took a sawsall to it. Cut the rack off and i need to weld a swivel to it. Then I can mount it to the cav. handle for  manual trim adjustments.

Gt, your right they are very comfy. Actually he could have used less foam in the bottom. I feel like I'm sitting up kind of high.

Fabbed up a bracket with a retainer to hold the end of the steering cable jacket. Then welded the swivel rod end to the end of the cable. Seems to work real smooth. The end of the ride plate has about 1/2" of travel. Thats one more thing I can cross off the list.

She's Done, Lit the motor off tonight and i'm stoked. We have a couple of bugs to work out, but she runs, what a relief.
Fuel selector valve is leaking and the starter/solinoid  isn't working after a couple of hits, it has to cool off.

It was dark and getting a little chilley tonight when we finally got it started. I'll try to get home early tomarrow to do the cam break in. Then maybe this weekend I can pull the motor and put the driveline in, remove the starter and take it back to the guys that rebuilt it.
