Title: 1974 Conqueror marine sundance 16 build
Post by: BHC the river life on July 07, 2014, 07:41:28 PM
Hey all just joined the site & want to share pix of my jet boat. I moved to Bullhead city AZ 3 years ago from San diego & before i left i traded a car for a 74 Conqueror marine sundance 16 jet boat. Its powered by a Datsun L 20 motor [ 2.0 110 HP] & the jet is made by Castoldi out of Italy. It ran ok when i got it & the paint / gelcoat was in so-so shape. Ive done alot to it in the 3 years ive had it..some of it cosmetic & the rest maintenance / replacing parts but luckily im a Datsun freak so keeping it running & tuned is easy.

thats a pretty cool little float.  neet to see a jet/engine combo thats different.   i always wondered what a little 4 cyl would do behind a jet.  my first car was a 2.3l mustang that i had done to the 9's with parts.  wiseco pistons, crower rods, ported intake, etc.  made almost 150hp at the wheels on a dyno.

holy crap my parents have the same float but there's had a 2.9 Chevy 4 cylinder and a Hamilton jet. I have honestly never seen another one of these boats. 👍

Neat little boat!  What kind of performance are you getting?

TY guys. The list of things ive done to it are...
new paint [white base w/ abalone micro flake]..
recovered console w/ new wheel..
new bimini top..
detailed motor & homemade air scoop..
repainted jet [candy blue w/ blue micro flake]..
Performance wise it does well with the Weber carb & electronic ignition..top speed i had it up to was 44 & a tank of fuel [12 gal tank] lasts 3 or 4 trips out.

Ok since my last post the throttle cable decided to let go so i installed a foot pedal/ cable to see if it would work etc...I had to make a new bracket for it because it's a pusher style. Fabbed it up just to get me through the season & it works fine. Hit the river yesterday...
