I still need to repair and paint the transom ring, but the nozzle is on and all the hardware is mocked up. I need a couple random bolts then I can bolt it all together for the last time.

It seems like the little details always take the longest.

I want to acknowledge a few people that had a hand in this project.

Lee (69Kona) was the first to get involved. He built a badass engine and pump combo that should get this old hull moving!

Wes (Carrera202) worked his magic on the paint and brought the metal flake back to life. This boat had been getting beat up living on a side yard since '05. Also, thanks for the wiring tools that have made life MUCH easier.

Keith (Crewchief) rebuilt the carb. Rebuild is an understatement because it was GROSS inside. Now, it's sanitary and dialed in for the engine combo.

Joe (Flusher) I appreciate you coming by and scoping out the project!

Great job ! The boat looks so cool. That metal flake cleaned up nice.

The little details are the killer. Especially when stuff goes together in order and you forget something and have to take everything back off again. 🤬

Great write up as well. I always enjoy your project threads.

Life has been hectic lately so if I make it to the opener it'll be a last minute decision.

I scored a set of twisties. I feel like they fit the boat much better than the standard Bassetts. I stopped by to drop them off, but HAD to see what they looked like on the engine. Then, I took like eighty pictures. Here's a few...

I like the Twisties better. They look faster.
I think I read somewhere they flow a bit better and give a little bump in HP over the regular headers.
Are they closer to the gunnels than the other set?

I'm using the original vinyl. It's still in great shape surprisingly. The new seat base is just about finished.

That boat looks amazing! I love that you kept the original colors.  The orange flake turned out great.  I had to replace my gel and most of the flake.  Talk about a nasty job...  Hope you get lots of enjoyment out of your toy.
