I am new to the jet boat world and bought a project. I am going to replace my floor in my boat and am wondering is my boat is a full stringer or 1/4. Starting from the back of the boat the the front. The stringers a about 6 to 8 inchs high. But as it continues to the front after the engine area. The stringers look like they been cut to half then run up to the front of the boat. They end about 2 or 3 feet past the stearing wheel. Thank you

I’d say you could call it a full stringer. I think they were cut lower to put a floor in there. Unless you’re putting massive horsepower in it, even 1/4 stringers are fine, as long as they’re solid.
Other than the floor, what all do you have to do to it? What kind of motor and pump?

No that wasnt me. Sorry I am from Illinois Richards is my moms maiden name. I think I messed up somehow adding my password lol. Back to the boat. I plan on just using it to have fun. Got a good deal on the boat and trailer. I plan on putting a 5.3 or 6.0 in it. It has a Berkeley pump with a American turbine split bowl. With a drop snoot and place diverter. I will try to add a picture.

Here are a couple of threads that talk about an LS install. Steve did a pretty good job of detailing all he had to do. Go to the front page of the website and do a search for “LS” and it should give you everything posted about LS’s.
There have been a few installs over the years. They seem to work really well in the lower profile jet boats. A lot of power at a lower weight.

Sorry if this is the wrong place to ask. But how do I get the fiberglass out of the boat to install new stringers. I am worried I might sand to much out and go through the hull. This boat is very light. I can pick the whole back end of the boat off the trail with no problem. Even with pump still in it. Once I get the old stringers out whats the best way to remove the old fiberglass and perp the boat for new stringers? Thanks
