We are planning on revamping the interior this season and probably change up the gel coat next season (one step at a time). Let me know what you guys think and feedback on the motor/hull. Thanks

the interior looks great. i would run it a season or two and see what you like and don't like before you change it. plus save your money for now incase anything happens. boats like to break alot :banghead:
looks like a nice boat though! ;D
-
thanks bertus :banghead:
-
thanks for the feedback guys. ill post pics up soon of the motor and some more other pics.
-
sweet we have the same boat. but mines blue and an 81 not that that matters. glad to see another crusader on the water. you ever go to blythe or the lower river area.??? we should hook up
-
It is definitley good to see other crusaders I have the open bow version I am hoping to post some pics up tonight.
-
i also noticed the orange and yellow one has a diverter handle on the floor. what kind of jet are you running. did all crusaders come with panther power or no?
-
just to let you know. i found a guy in bakersfield who is doing my interior after easter. he is chargin me 2500. for everything. carpet and wood work. i am changing from the interior that we all have to an updated eliminator look with two capt chairs a bench and a full engine deck lid. I will post pics when it is done.
oh i am also sending the rear of the pump back to panther to put a diverter on it.
-
I have got a buddy of mine who has a place in parker so i might be down that way sometime this season. It has a berkley jet not too sure what model yet. I called and got a quote from a company in riverside that will re-glass the wood, install new carpet, and re-upholster the interior with a new look for $2000. I am still trying to decide if i want to do the captain seats with the bench/engine hatch in the back. I kinda like having the extra seating. I would definatly be interested in seeing the pics of your interior when its done. That would probably actually be the deciding factor in what i decide to do. This is the first boat i'll have with a place diverter so it will be new for me! Im pretty stoked on it though
-
What motor are you running in yours?? What has been your top speed so far? Im hoping the 460 wont disappoint me too much. I know they like to break down but im not planning on getting too crazy with it.

That would never happen!
-
should have seen that coming...lol. The guy i bought the boat from is a mechanic so im hoping that the motor will be well maintained.

Sorry, you left the door wide open so I had to! Welcome to the site, nice boat!

thanks!

i am running a mild 454. probably 430 hp or so. pretty built but nothing too crazy.
i have a panther pump (boooo)
i can almost reach 60mph. i think my fastest gps speed was 58 with just me in it. it is fast enough i guess. just put a loud stereo in it..
the crusader hull is pretty sweet. we definatly need to get together for some pics.

Ya but how many coolers were in it?
-
as many as i could fit.hahah..
what pump do you have in your crusader. i see a diverter lever on the floor. is it a converted panther or did it come with a berk
-
I just got the boat last night and got some more info. It has a berk jet 12jc a (which hopefully is a good jet). Ran the motor for a few today and it seems a little hesitant on the gas. I gave it a little and it took a second or two to catch up. Going to get a new fuel pump, carb and scoop for it. The spark arrestor thats on it is a little beat up. aside from that it doesnt seem like a bad float. Here are a few more pics i snapped today.

CHANGE YOUR FUEL LINES IMMEDIATELY before that thing burns you and your family to the ground. and while your at it change all the water hoses, so you dont sink
edit, :-[
nice boat ;)

Ralph's right they look scary. Two fuel filters ?
-
do u work at fuelcurvewest?
-
Im taking your guys' advise and going to meet up with boost tomorrow. Gonna get the carb rebuilt and go through the motor. Huge thanks to boost for the help ;D
-
do u work at fuelcurvewest?
No but the guy there does good work.
-
Got it up to boost's place today and got her all dialed in. Thanks to boost and dave at fuelcurvewest the carb is rebuilt and running strong. Also picked up boost's tunnel ram and his demon carb from him. Gonna run the current set up for a few runs then switch over to the tunnel and new carb (which was also dialed in by dave at fuel curve west). Found out a little more about the motor today too. Full MSD ignition system, dove c heads on it, harman marine headers, a mild cam, roller rockers and some mild head work done to it....Stoked to hear good news.
-
Well her maiden voyage on sunday to elsinore went good. It ran great for 3/4 of the day then one of my plug wires busted so i was dead in the water. Thankfully i was able to get a tow back in unfortunately the guy who towed me let his wife drive and I guess when your husband is standing on the swim platform its NOT a good idea to gas it really fast...lost a blackberry cell phone and a pair of $100 spy sunglasses....chitty. Got her home replaced the plug wires with the MSD Super conductor 8.5mm plug wires and she runs titties again. Got the trailer painted black now so it doesnt look like its poo brown
-
well finally got some more stuff done to the boat and some stuff prepped to be installed. Got the swimstep restained and sealed. got the trailer painted, got new plug wires in (since two of the other ones were busted), got the tunnel ram/demoncarb/scoop all assembled and ready to install. Here are a few pics of the recent changes.
-
the trailer got painted two days ago and now its going to rain. i guess she will get her first test today when it rains. the paint should hold up no prob.
-
man looks good. let me know how she runs with that tunnel ram i was thinking of putting one on my boat. but she is running great right now. and if it aint broke dont fix it. lol
-
I really wanted to try to wait and hold out this season and not do the interior but I got a good deal thats too hard to pass up so the boat is getting dropped off on sunday and will be back in a couple weeks. Its a buddy of mine in orange county. I will post pics when its done and maybe some of you guys will like his work. Also thinkin bout naming the boat "Happy Hour"
-

Who's doing your work?
-
a dood named todd. cool guy good work. would be down to do other interiors. ill post pics when its done
-
dropped her off and picked out all the colors. getting new carpet a couple new panels, new wood on two of the seats cause of rotting, and all new foam. He is located in mission viejo. Price is slightly higher due to the new panels and replacing the wood. Total of 2020. Ill ask him if its cool if i post up his number. Ill be stopping by there periodically to take pics and ill post them up here.
-
sweet we got two crusader minidays in for interior. like i said my deal was 2500 out the door for the wood vynal panels foam and carpet. any color and style.
i would stop by and take some in progress pics but its too far for me to just swing by.
-
yeah bakersfield isnt really close to anything except for bakersfield. I am keeping the og interior and re-doing everything. I kinda like the older style seating. you seat more people. it was only another $100 to do captains seats and a rear bench.
-
Todd's phone number is 714-328-7445. He can do anything and everything if anyone is interested give him a call for a quote. tell him rob sent you
-
new interior update pics. sorry for the fuzzy photos they are from a cell phone.
-
Rob all you need to do is just post it on ONE thread :banghead: ;D
-
I know :banghead: I just wrote a new thread about the interior but then talked about it here so thought i should update them both.
-
wow looks good. my boat is two weeks into the new interior it should be done in two more weeks. i cant wait
-
You are switching to the newer style interior right? (buckets/bench in rear). How is the leg clearance going to be in the back seats? We took a few measurements and found that it would be really tight for the two ppl in back behind the captain seats. Thats why I opted to keep the seating arrangement.
-
it should be fine. i asked the interior shop about it and they said it was all good. so we will see. and yes i am updating it to the capt and a rear bench and full engine cover. should be nice. i should have some pics maybe next week. i am going to try to get up there while they are about half way done

HAHAHA,
Yeah, we like to say that we are 2 hours from everything and 2 hours from nothing. ;D

Think if you are not busy you could stop by star upholstry and take a pic or two of my boat in progress. it is a 2 hour drive for me and i will be at the river this weekend so i cant do it then. and i cant make it after work before they close. anyway no bid deal if you cant but if you are close to Star Upholstry i will buy you some beer or somthing if you can post a pic or two.
