Title: 1978 Kona Daycruizer
Post by: 1149crawford on June 22, 2009, 08:46:36 AM
Would anyone know how to get a used price value for a 78 Kona daycruizer. I've tried nada with no luck. They don't list that as a manufacturer. I'm wanting to buy one that is in excellent shape, but need value for bank.

Well, what an old boat is worth on "paper" is different than what its actually worth to you or someone that collects classics or what you could sell it for.  Think of it like this.  A fully restored mustang according to kbb is a lot lower than if you tried to buy the same car at Barret Jackson.

if its a 78 and its as clean as you say the numbers most likely will not match up.between asking price and what the bank will loan you espically on something so old.i would never finance a boat that old between the payment and repairs and upkeep you could have a new one just my .02

The interior is perfect, hull has not a scratch, trailer is very nice with chrome wheels and new tires. I do appreciate all your help. Not borrowing on boat, taking personal loan, and sometimes the gals ask for a nada.

Tell em the personal loan is for home repairs.  Usually no questions asked when you use that reason.

I'm not worried about what they think really. I've been doing loans with them for a long time. It would be nice to know for myself. I have some pics of the boat loaded on my computer at home. When I get there I'll load them and post on here. I've had 2 jet boats before and love them. Both Eliminaters and both pickles. They were sweet boats and hated to part,,,but kids were younger,,,we'll now thier gone. I got a nice home, the Harley I want, the motorhome I want, amd all I need is the boat. Then,,it's a full toy box. Thank you for all your help.
