Title: 1979 tx
Post by: german1 on March 13, 2011, 02:32:13 PM
Just picked up a solid hull for a killer price. (Thanks Ryan) My first project boat and I'm stoked. My gears are spinning........ everything is there but motor and pump.

I guess the "winger" bug is getting around.  That color is going to look mean when it's done, good luck and keep the pics coming.

Thanx fellas. I know I'm doing my best with the resources I have to get in in the water by summer. I do still have the challenger, I want to sell it though....I'm in a toss up between selling, and taking the motor out for the new float????????? :o

Pull the motor and pump!
Title: Re: 1979 tx
Post by: german1 on March 14, 2011, 07:00:30 PM
the pump is a jacuzzi and it's set up for a berk/dom.....so no go on that. thought about pulling motor and having some work done to it then dropping it in, but then i will be stuck with boat less motor. I don't know yet :screwy:

Post by: german1 on April 08, 2011, 03:58:26 PM
more progress. no paint today like i planned. the glittery blue under the paint is funky. bass boat style. tomorrow we are going to prep the bottom, and build some kind of cart to wheel it around on. transom is solid now reinforced from top of hull to bottom. gonna fill some holes where extra gauges and things were, then primer etc. she is coming along. any ideas on a paint scheme ?

The fathers day float is family oriented kinda but we still party pretty damn hard. Lets just say there's pics of Kris and I passed out in the middle of the street walking back from the bar.

Somebody's got some 'splainin' to do.   I don't remember seeing "that" kinda coverage of the SCJB team in action.   What's up with that?

Title: Re: 1979 tx
Post by: german1 on April 17, 2011, 09:35:10 AM
so we put her in the booth to paint, got sealer on, then base coat but with the white we noticed some wavy lines on the side where the top and bottom meet. so needs more lovin there. called of the rest of the process to get it right.

Title: Re: 1979 tx
Post by: german1 on May 04, 2011, 06:58:02 PM
so the painting has taken a lot longer than i thought it would... my first time doing this kind of project, and my buddy's as well. so trial and error was the name of the game. here are some pictures up to date... all that is left is some wet sanding and buffing. i was going to do different designs, but like i said.....trial and error. would of been a royal pain in the arse :screwy: i do dig it though... y'all like?
