First off, a big thank you to spectrapat and all his help with getting the boat. As you can see, it was a very HOT deal. Most of the interior is toast and I'm not so sure about the floor either, but thats no biggie. My back seat will fit with 1.5" on each side, so thats awesome. Theres general fire damage in a few areas, nothing too major. Theres some gelcoat damage at the helm which I can cover up with an aluminum plate for the dash, and near the transom, not sure what to do there other than paint it to re-gel it and blend it in. Otherwise transom looks to be in good shape.

floor looks to be in good shape. no dead spots but unlike the floor i put in the bahner it doesnt appear to be attached to the stringers so it feels "soft" when you walk on it. its also not a 3/4" floor either so its not as solid.
-
so here's where im at... some fiberglass damage is found on the side of the boat. at a quick glance it looks like at least 2 layers of cloth were burned... you can see the brown in behind them which is solid fiberglass. im gonna cut out the bad stuff and grind/sand a little and see just how far the damage goes. then it comes down to laying up some new glass to build that section back up. its interesting in that the areas where the carpet was, were NOT burned. it mustve acted like an insulator. theres also a layer of tape that goes across the cap joint on the inside that is all frayed and burned. so its just grinding, sanding, and getting back to good glass and seeing how much i need to build back up.
(https://fbcdn-sphotos-h-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-xpf1/v/t1.0-9/10425424_10152619880269833_2838137494642796850_n.jpg?oh=a0b537f83ce871d3d3db327b3a3cad2f&oe=55196BF6&__gda__=1426530697_30fda5a27cfec8e89e18354a8d8ca26b)
you can see the brown good layer in behind the burned... this is the tape going across the cap.

a layer of cloth burned, again... brown in behind it... hopefully its still in good shape.

not much progress, sold the bahner and played musical trailers with the boats. the good news is that the warlock fits on my trailer *PERFECTLY* no need to move bunks around. im so glad that i DIDNT move the bunks on my trailer with the bahner and procrastinated...

only thing im worried about is the weight of the motor and drive in the boat and the weight distribution on the trailer. right now without rigging its got a LOT of tongue weight.
-
Wouldn't the motor and drive weight decrease the tongue weight? More having off the back end.

Yep.
It should have a buttload of weight without the drive system in place.
Looks good on there.

late night seat deconstruction. gonna make a new seat frame. this one is wrecked. i think there mustve been fat girls up in the bow because they band-aid fixed it with 4 HUGE stainless bolts and a steel bar.
(https://fbcdn-sphotos-e-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-xfa1/v/t1.0-9/10334340_10152658312564833_2754134306683725875_n.jpg?oh=d76af6e22d734031f17f14a75cecbd9f&oe=54FEF290&__gda__=1426243709_d76e9d3ff02e8901c952a6b11fcf922c)

its interesting to see how much detail goes into making the boat, they used biaxial cloth throughout the entire boat. hull, floor, tabbing, etc. but then in the seat frames its like they covered it in home depot paint... everything is rotten and theres hokey things like that little 1' piece where they couldve just cut the panel longer on the seat sides... weird.

ive got MOST everything back down to GOOD glass. just gotta strip down the burned gelcoat, give the drivers side a good sanding, and then its time to start building things back up, and do re-gel. not sure if i should just tape off the whole top area and redo it in like a grey or a color or try to match the white. i could REALLY use some tips to redo it in white and to feather the edges and blend it all back together. ive heard that gel matches color when wet and dry so im thinking of wet sanding the sides and polishing it so that its all clean and matching. im probably going to use whatever i can find at west marine, since i seem to have good results with their products... although expensive.

any progress on this thing?

sadly no. I've got my boat out in my driveway and my navigator is being torn apart in my garage. New set of heads, cams, etc. Been busy doing that.

yup so the first time i tore down I replaced the phasers, VCT solenoids, etc... basically everything external the longblock. either theres a blockage in the head or the cam is effed. apparently they dont use cam bearings so once that happens the whole head is junk. im running out of parts to replace short of the entire car driving off a cliff.
-
Well good luck with repairs
-
ouch yeah that sucks.
What happened to looking at a yukon or escalade if i remember correctly?
