Tom, is that transom wood?  How thick is it?  Man that looks like it would float the QE2!!!  :)  Greg

This one was a stern drive to start, then changed to a "wacker" ?  I hope that explains all the differences I'm seeing between that hull and mine.  ???

Omar Eliminator tells me that there virtually no differnence from OB, sterndrive and jet  hulls ,same goes for the Place craft were about to do !

Greg the transom definately "had wood" ha ha that sucker was no less than 3 inches thick you can see how thick it was proportionate to Rhondas hand in the pic ,guess the installer wanted to help support the "Eggbeater" weight

Jeff are you sure your stringers arent at least similer to the ones shown in the picture ?    Tom

...BTW To add some "light" to whats going on here in the photos  Josh has stripped away the carpets ,scraped the bilge (carpet adhesive) and layed out /cut out the intake opening for the jet (setback) we'll finish cleaning the used berkeley intake today then mill it to match the bottom and for a ride plate and shoe then we'll set the intake in epoxy and start installing the jet ,note the large holes at all the corners of the cuts these are to radius the corners to avoid 90* corners thus avoiding stress cracking later at these points  Josh got to do all the fun stuff I just got to photo, vacuum and draw on the cut-outs  ;D

Quote "Give me a Milwaulkee Sawzall and a claw hammer and i'll take down a house!"

Man, hang a motor on there and the trailer would want to fall over backwards.  Not to mention, if it's all marine ply it cost as much as all the glass work in the rest of the boat.  :D :D :D

The pump was produced with an A , the last rebuild they tuned a AA down to an AB.Which is what it has currently

No real suprise ,just that the front bearing was "frozen" unfortunate that the prior builder neglected to put any grease in it ... heres today ,rail kit should be in tues...

Title: Re: 21 Daytona project

Look at the how big that transom is?  I was checking out Droppys 21 Daytona with that 1.2 bizzilion cubic in Ferd and there was still enough transom to mount more crap on it. Hell, I can't even hardly see my transom and it's so full of SS lines, MSD boxes and misc dohickeys that I'm jealous. Boat is looking killer and yup, I'm thinking I'm sick of sanding and wanna spray soon...........

Yep, Droppys is incredible as is a number of the gangs boats up here. They all set the bar really high.

That's too cool about the road trip. Just dont get in a wreck when you're towing it home cuz you're looking in the rear view mirror all the time........

Ralph,
Good obseration.  Several things, with the lower edges at the tops of the sponson (base of the stringers) provides maximum strength IMO, and at the position you see, it negated having to cut the bottoms of the plates at all (no trimming).  The way the kit cam in the box from the builder gave absolute perfect driveline alignment.  We were very pleased.
Tom

I'm not sure if she's a "deck finish inspector" or if she's for servicing "nozzles", either way I'm sure she gets the job done with that kind of determination...  :D   ;D

So I'm getting my cables today(diverter, fwd-rev, throttle)  can anyone shed some light as to where I need to punch holes in my transom for the steering and the fwd/rev. I've never had a diverter before, so I'm not sure if that one goes over, or through the transom?

I've only one shot of her in the drink then my 13 year old put the camera down in the bottom of the boat....then she no-worky till the next day.  So far so good, I love the way felt, rode, cornered, ect. ;D

:o  And what makes you think theres more room in one of these ?  Heck the deck is 11' long.   Interior measurements are 9' long and 58" wide.  Walking room is the real issue though, those tunnels really take up a lot of floor space.  Your kinda limited to a small walking trail down the center, or walking on the seats.
