Hello everybody, I've been busy the last year working, or shall I say being taught, by a couple close friends of mine, Jim engine and pump, and Stu glass and paint, on how to restore my 1976 Nordic Bubble Deck. I've used this website for lots of research but haven't had anything to contribute till now. Since I am a newbie and have way more to learn, I feel I am better off reading then speaking for now, if you know what I mean. But I am very excited about how the project is coming along and wanted to begin sharing it with you all.
The engine was built by Jim Guthrie. I wanted a motor that could idle, tow skiers, have top end power, and be as low maintenance as possible. I guess I wanted it all and man did he deliver. It's a pump gas 557 Ford with a hydraulic roller cam that put out some impressive power.
The boat is almost done but I have yet to make a slideshow of the boat. When it's completed I'll for surely post it, as Stu did remarkable work as always and delivered an unbelievable paint job!
Here is a link to the dyno video I made.

Hey TJ how are you doing? I love the puke tank you built me, it looks sic, totally excited about it, and I will get pics for you as soon as I finish up the boat. How's your Nordic running? Anything new with it?

Aqua, Jim did my pump for me, great work, really cool guy. I liked the way he was up front and asked me what I was using my boat for, so I wasn't going to be spending money on basically overkill. Welcome to the site, you can learn a helluva lot here

Right on, ya I've known Jim for like 14 years or so and he has always delivered! He's a great guy! Hey I see you live in Brea, I grew up there in Olinda Village, what a small world. Thanks for the welcome and hopefully I'll see you at the river sometime!

Thank you!

Mr. Guthrie is a top notch builder from what i've heard. Sounds like you'll have a bit more than a 'ski' boat on your hands. Looking forward to hearing more about it and seeing more pics.
Welcome to SCJB.

Nick,
Thank you for the welcome!
You're definitely right about being a bit more then a just a ski boat. This was another one of those projects that got a little out of hand! But hey I learned a lot and I can't wait to drive it.
