Just picked this boat up yesterday as a project looking for some good ideas and things to know about before tearing into the boat the guy said that it needs head gasket so I got it ordered anything else I should look at while in the process of replacing these

Has it sat a long time? You check the dipstick/oil? I would pull off as much as I could to check everything out. Actually I would yank the engine out to inspect it. Check compression on each cylinder? I am just thinking off the top of my head here.
Check out the pump too. Might need some freshing up.

Welcome to the madness. Personally, I would re-gasket the intake, heads, timing cover and water pump plate. Sometimes water gets into the oil @ the water pump plate/timing cover from stagnant water sitting in the block and rusting through. Cool boat

Got the flooring out what is everyone using for flooring just thicker plywood or something else?
