Title: 73' Tahiti Crusader
Post by: NAFLASH on April 02, 2009, 12:10:02 PM
Picked this boat up about 2 weeks ago. The boat was given to me. It has a 455 in it with a Berkeley 12JC. Interior is toast. Gel coat has seen better days. Im debating whether to paint it or wet sand it and wax it. Stress cracks everywhere so I think I'll opt for the first option.

Should be fun. The back of the floor is rotted out. nothing major. I cant complain too much seeing as it was free. Stringers looked good. the hull looks good other then a repair made to the driver side rear corner on the bottom. they did a decent job so im not worried. Plans for it are a mild 460. rebuild the pump. paint it white and black. My buddy kyle and I had some wood layin around so we threw together an interior. might change it around to make more room. Mind you we've never built anything for a boat.

Every Time I look at a "project" I tend to visualize all the cool things I could do and I can even envision what the thing will look like at the end and then I say .............never again then my crazy side say f*ck it why not and "Viola" I'm waist deep in another project , Go for it ! Congratulations Tom

Got bored last night so we pulled it off the trailer. Started to sand off the old nasty orange and brown stripes. I plan on painting the boat white with some sort of black stripe on the side. Got a killer deal on logs, bellhousing, and water pump cover. Found a pretty sweet crack in the hull right where the trailer stringer ends. More pictures to come later.
