Ok so I picked up a hull and am getting it all prepped for pump and motor to go in. And I thought I was going to just throw a place diverter on it. Then I was thinking a shoe, and ride plate. With possibly a droop or straight snoot. And the intake has a full set back and is currently removed. But looking for input. The setup I have is a jacuzzi pump. With American turbine conversion. And a BBF.
Pics are before inside prep and pump set back.
And if anyone has a similar hondo I would love to see some pics.

I will let you know. We're close to getting her running. I want to take it out a few times. But we will end up selling it at some point. We don't need 3 boats. Lol

I'm not trying to hijack your thread but I'm working on a 73 Hondo myself. Yours is the first one that I've seen like mine that has the straight dash and isn't a T-deck. This one is a project and a half. I've replaced practically every piece of wood on this thing. Stringers, dash, transom.. I laid balsa on the floor and I think its going to look real nice if I ever get it finished. I'm ditching the Jacuzzi for a set back Berkeley 12JC and power will be a 5.3L LS with a 76mm turbo. Anyways here's a few pics and I'll be following this thread closely. -Ben

Right on. That looks good. And yes I have not come across any others with straight dash.

What kind of keel you guys got? Delta pad?
-
Idk. Not sure how to tell.

My hondo had a straight dash but wasn't a rounded transom

Yes the hull shape is bad ass. I had a 71 tahiti that weighed 3 times as much and had I huge hook, but I definitely like the look of the rolled back.

the bottom if the boat what type are these

From what I can see there is no delta pad on these hulls. They are described as semi-v bottoms in an old Hondo ad I found. I'm really wondering about the performance of these bottoms. Like how well they load the pump and what the shut down is like. I hope some one with experience sees this and chimes in. Like I said I've found very little info about these hulls.
-
Very Very nice hulls. Same as the Cole Firestar. They are considered the original gull wing design and some did have delta pads.
-
Here's some interesting information I found if you read through the whole post. Seems that the bottom design can perform quite well.
