I have a 77 kona. My dad bought the boat in 78 so it's been around a long time. When I got it there was a sbc in it. So far I have had the paint refinished and got new interior and new floors. For the engine I went with the lq9 6.0 out of a 2005 escalade. I called Tom from jet boat performance and ordered the rail kit and drive line. I also called bassett and ordered a set of  twisties and I'm going run wet exhaust. Next is the cam selection. I am thinking about the Xr281hr from comp cams. I will post pic of the specs. Would this cam work well? Also any pics or videos or info on their ls swaps??

This thread also has a link to another thread by sandeggo. Also a pretty detailed thread. He was one of the first ones, that I saw on the forums, do an LS swap.

Just remember, some off these threads can be 10 years old. So, things might have changed since then, especially about availability for LS parts.

Update on my ls swap. Took a while and seemed like a check list that would never end but it runs. I ended up using a f body oil pan and anyone going to run them beware there wasn't much clearance but it worked. The msd box 6014 was super simple and easy. It's my first build ever and when I turned that key she fired right up. I am using a rectangle port tunnel ram and 317 cathedral style heads so I used the adaptor plate which works pretty slick. On the lake test run everything went great. With stock cam it shot out of hole and ran 5k easly.. it had way more but I need to take my wife and kids on it before I break it..lol... I am impressed it was super easy swap to do.
