« on: April 24, 2011, 12:02:54 PM »

I lost oil psi and think I spun a bearing so need to pull my motor for repair. Im good with motors but not familer with these jet drives or what exactly I must do to dissconect motor from jet so i can pull it out of boat. Any help would be greatly appreciated. It has a 455 olds and jacuzzi jet. Thanks, Josh

aside from disconnecting the mounts (either 4 or 3 point) theres a driveline that hooks to a splined shaft on the pump.

if its a 3 point the bellhousing sits on the pump itself and theres a little bracket that bolts up underneath to clamp it to the pump.  you can either reach thru the access hole and undo the 4 bolts that mount the driveline to the crank/PTO or just lift the motor out and push it a few inches forward and slide the driveshaft off the spline.  i found its easier to put the motor in/out with the driveline hooked up and just lining up the splines.  some do it thru the access hole in the bellhousing.

Thanks for the pics and input, should really help me out. So if I understand right I should be able to pull the motor mount bolts and slide motor forward while lifting till splined shaft slides out and im good to go. Also was curious if anyone on here know of a good parts source for bb olds motors. There a little harder to come by then bbc to say the least. Mainly need a good gasket kit and prob some crank bearings if I need to grind it down.
