time for me to man-up and ask....
I have heard lots of you speak of a hook in the hull,
what (so a nube would understand) is this  ?    :screwy:

Hook; a concave depression in the bottom of the hull typically in the rear flat areas between the strakes. They act similarly to trim tabs in the down position.

Rocker; a convex bump in the same area that a hook would be.

Hooks were used by many manufacturers to eliminate ill handling hulls due to porpoise issues. Also made driving the boat more idiot proof.

Rocker was used to help carry more bow lift. These can be sketchy to drive.

You are more than likely to desire a flat keel line vs. either a hook or rocker. More user friendly and easier to tune.

Well over the past couple days I got the stringers and bulkhead out. I'm pretty sure I made it harder then it needed to be, but o'well it's done! I also started grinding out the rest of the subfloor.

Nice job bud! Looking really good!
Word of advice. When you start sanding. Get lots of white suits and a good respirator. That fiberglass dust is worse than clay dust I work with.
Also, if you don't want to be super itchy after working with that crap. Baby powder on your arms and face before you woke with it, cold shower after. It keeps the glass dust out of your pores.

Really depends on the builder and boat type, but more often then not you will see it on the last 12"or so, just in front of the transom.

Yeah it was wet. I think partly because of me, and also because the guy had it outside uncovered for who knows how long.

Nah sorry Jake. Another member and I tore into the Carrera and found  a bigger problem than expected. So now I have two projects going on haha! As funds run low there's plenty of grinding for me.

Pulled the heads to replace the gaskets, then found quite a bit of water and rust in a couple of the cylinders. Gonna pull the eng and pan to see if there's any major damage. Heads are getting cleaned and magnafluxed, and gonna replace anything that needs it. So basically rebuilding the eng!
